Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between ocular perfusion pressure and retrobulbar blood flow in patients with glaucoma with progressive damage
TL;DR: The present findings suggest that alterations in ocular blood flow regulation may contribute to the progression in glaucomatous damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interocular differences in optic disc topographic parameters in normal subjects
Doina Gherghel,Selim Orgül,Chistian Prünte,Konstantin Gugleta,Patricia Lübeck,Margarita Gekkieva,Josef Flammer +6 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates systematic interocular differences in optic disc topometric data and should be taken in consideration in clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Influence of Sex Difference in Measurements with the Langham Ocular Blood Flow System
Margarita Gekkieva,Selim Orgül,Doina Gherghel,Konstantin Gugleta,Christian Prünte,Josef Flammer +5 more
TL;DR: Women had higher readings in pulse amplitude and POBF, even after correcting for age, refraction, IOP, blood pressure, and pulse rate, which indicates sex difference that is independent of other hemodynamic parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of timolol on anterior optic nerve blood flow in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma as assessed by the Heidelberg retina flowmeter.
Patricia Lübeck,Selim Orgül,Konstantin Gugleta,Doina Gherghel,Margarita Gekkieva,Josef Flammer +5 more
TL;DR: Patients with nonprogressive glaucoma seem not to have an altered optic nerve blood flow as assessed by the HRF, and timolol treatment does not seem to alter the latter blood flow parameter in such patients.
