Journal ArticleDOI

Microencapsulation of bacteria: A review of different technologies and their impact on the probiotic effects

TL;DR: This review focuses mainly on the methodological approach of probiotic encapsulation including materials and results obtained using encapsulated probiotic in food matrices and different pathologies in animal models.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of unmodified starch on viability of alginate-encapsulated Lactobacillus fermentum CECT5716

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors applied Ionic Internal Gelation Technology to protect Lactobacillus fermentum CECT5716 and evaluated the encapsulation efficiency of two different formulations, the first one with alginate (5g/100mL) as a supporting material and the second one with a mix of alginates and unmodified starch (1 g/100 mL).
Journal ArticleDOI

Doxorubicin-Loaded Nanoparticles: New Advances in Breast Cancer Therapy

TL;DR: An overview of doxorubicin nanoplatform-based delivery systems and the principal advances obtained in breast cancer chemotherapy is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lipid-based drug delivery systems for cancer treatment.

TL;DR: It is concluded that biodistribution profiles of chemotherapy agents can be controlled by their loading to such nanoplatforms, and Lipid-based nanomedicines offer an interesting approach to the delivery of anticancer drugs to brain tumors, and to reverse multi-drug resistance of cancer cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

An experimental investigation of the stability of ethylcellulose latex: Correlation between zeta potential and sedimentation

TL;DR: The experimental observations of the stability and redispersibility of an aqueous ethylcellulose latex are explained through the electrokinetic characterization of the particles, finding that CaCl(2) has the greatest influence, yielding flocculated, easily re-dispersible systems when its concentration in the dispersion medium is high enough.
