Process window of tube-end inversion: experimentation and numerical analysis
J.P. Magrinho,Gabriel Centeno,Maria Beatriz Silva,D. Morales-Palma,Carpóforo Vallellano,Paf Martins +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the formability limits of tube-end external inversion and combined the experimental determination of strain paths by means of digital image correlation (DIC) with finite element (FE) modelling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Injection by sheet-bulk forming
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on injection by upsetting of sheet-formed side walls and showed that the utilization of two-piece blank holders in conjunction with an adequate selection of the die cavity thickness and the creation of relief holes to allow divided material flow are effective and easy-to-implement strategies to increase process formability and ensure the production of sound sheet-bulk parts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Automation of Property Acquisition of Single Track Depositions Manufactured through Direct Energy Deposition
Jorge Fernandez Gil,Abílio M.P. De Jesus,Maria Beatriz Silva,M. Fátima Vaz,Ana Reis,João Manuel R. S. Tavares +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a Python algorithm was used to compute the relevant properties of DED-produced line beads, such as the track height, width, penetration, wettability angles, cross-section areas above and below the substrate and dilution proportion.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Peer Observation Project at the University of Lisbon - Implementation and Management
Maria Beatriz Silva,Luis Santos Castro,Isabel S. Gonçalves,Leonor Moura,Filipa David,Telma Baptista +5 more
TL;DR: The Observar e Aprender Project (O&L) as discussed by the authors is a peer-observation program for the teaching community in Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal.
