Aquatic macrophytes of Itaipu Reservoir, Brazil: survey of species and ecological considerations
Sidinei Magela Thomaz,Luis Mauricio Bini,Maria Conceição de Souza,Kazue Kawakita Kita,Antonio Fernando Monteiro Camargo +4 more
TL;DR: Reduced fluctuation in water level, increased light penetration, and sediment enrichment by nutrients and organic matter following the formation of the reservoir favored the appearance of a species-rich community of submerged macrophytes, and 62 taxa in 25 families and 42 genera were identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure, composition and spatial distribution of tree species in a remnant of the semideciduous seasonal Alluvial Forest of the upper Paraná River Floodplain
TL;DR: In this paper, the structure, distribution patterns, and dynamics of tree species in a remnant of the Semideciduous Seasonal Alluvial Forest in the Upper Parana River Floodplain, Brazil were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
O gênero Eugenia L. (Myrtaceae) na planície de alagável do Alto Rio Paraná, Estados de Mato Grosso do Sul e Paraná, Brasil
TL;DR: A floristic survey of Eugenia L. species of the Upper Parana River floodplain in Mato Grosso do Sul and Parana States, Brazil (22o40'-22o55'S; 53o10'-53o40'W) is presented in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Análise florística e estrutural de florestas riparias do alto Rio Paraná, Taquaruçu, MS
TL;DR: The phytosociological analysis demonstrated that the intermediate remnant is in a less mature successional stage, and the homogeneity of topography and soil indicated that the structural differences between the remnants might be related to anthropic action.
Journal ArticleDOI
Potencial for natural forest regeneration from seed bank in an upper Paraná river floodplain, Brazil
TL;DR: In this paper, the historical process of deforestation was analyzed to evaluate the regeneration potential of forests from soil seed bank of Porto Rico island (53° 15'W and 22° 45'S) in the upper Parana river floodplain.
