Evaluating open access journals using Semantic Web technologies and scorecards

TL;DR: The proposed process was applied to a university OAJ, including the definition of the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) linked to the institutional strategies, the extraction, cleaning and loading of data from the data sources into a data mart, the transformation of data into RDF (Resource Description Framework), and the publication of data by means of a SPARQL endpoint using the Virtuoso software.

Publishing a scorecard for evaluating the use of open-access journals using linked data technologies

Las tecnologías de Linked Data y sus aplicaciones en el gobierno electrónico

Abstract: Los movimientos de acceso abierto impulsan a los organismos principalmente estatales a publicar sus datos lo mas pronto posible. Las tecnologias de Linked Data ayudan en esta direccion. En este articulo se presentan conceptos y herramientas que pueden ser utiles para implementar proyectos de Linked Data, asi como tambien algunas aplicaciones al gobierno electronico. Nuestro objetivo es proporcionar una vision general de esta nueva area y su potencial uso, particularmente en el ambito del gobierno electronico. Para una implementacion a gran escala es necesario desarrollar metodologias para generar y publicar Linked Data en la Web, desarrollar algoritmos para interconectar datos automaticamente, asegurar la pervivencia de los enlaces, desarrollar estandares para registrar informacion de las fuentes de datos, asegurar la privacidad, seguridad y preservacion de los datos generados, crear herramientas para facilitar la busqueda y despliegue de Linked Data.
