Poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) blends: miscibility, microheterogeneity and free volume change
TL;DR: In this article, a differential scanning calorimetry (d.s.c) was used to study the properties of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polyvinylon pyrrolidone (PVP) with different molecular weights (10 000 and 360 000 g mol−1).
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical behaviour and biocompatibility of poly(1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone)-gelatin IPN hydrogels.
TL;DR: It is possible to conclude that IPN hydrogels based on poly(1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone and gelatin) and gelatin have potential for applications in the biomedical field.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unsaturated polyester resins: influence of the styrene concentration on the miscibility and mechanical properties
TL;DR: In this paper, the phase separation in unsaturated polyester resins with an increase of styrene concentration is investigated and the dependence of the glass transition temperature of the UP resin on the styrene content is complex and reflects a balance of elastic forces of the network and the immiscibility of polystyrene and UP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermal conductivity of PET/(LDPE/AI) composites determined by MDSC
TL;DR: In this paper, the heat capacity and thermal conductivity of composites prepared from PET and LDPE containing aluminium particles dispersed in the polyolefin matrix, both obtained from recycled packaging, were measured in the temperature range from 20 to 100 °C using modulated DSC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Miscibility, crystallinity and morphological behavior of binary blends of poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(methyl vinyl ether–maleic acid)
TL;DR: In this article, optical microscopy was used to determine the miscibility and crystallinity of blends of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) with poly(methyl vinyl ether-co-maleic acid) (PMVE-MAc).
