Volume recovery in epoxy glasses subjected to torsional deformations: the question of rejuvenation

TL;DR: The facts that t∗ is independent of the magnitude of the strain and that the volume recovery after a quench remains unaltered, in spite of the imposition of mechanical deformations, support the argument that mechanical stimuli neither alter the underlying (non-equilibrium) thermodynamic state of the glass nor erase physical ageing.

Aging in glasses subjected to large stresses and deformations

TL;DR: In this article, the physical aging response in simple extension was studied as a function of stress magnitude and in stress relaxation in torsion, and it was found that the underlying volume recovery kinetics were not changed by the mechanical stimuli, i.e. were independent of the applied deformation.
