Systems and methods for virtualization and emulation malware enabled detection are described. In some embodiments, a method comprises intercepting an object, instantiating and processing the object in a virtualization environment, tracing operations of the object while processing within the virtualization environment, detecting suspicious behavior associated with the object, instantiating an emulation environment in response to the detected suspicious behavior, processing, recording responses to, and tracing operations of the object within the emulation environment, detecting a divergence between the traced operations of the object within the virtualization environment to the traced operations of the object within the emulation environment, re-instantiating the virtualization environment, providing the recorded response from the emulation environment to the object in the virtualization environment, monitoring the operations of the object within the re-instantiation of the virtualization environment, identifying untrusted actions from the monitored operations, and generating a report regarding the identified untrusted actions of the object.

In some embodiments, a method comprises intercepting an object provided from a first digital device, determining one or more resources the object requires, instantiating a virtual environment with the one or more resources, processing the object within the virtual environment, tainting operations of the object within the virtual environment, monitoring the operations of the object, identifying an additional resource of the object while processing that is not provided in the virtual environment, re- instantiating the virtual environment with the additional resource, monitoring the operations of the object while processing within the re-instantiated virtual environment, identifying untrusted actions from the monitored operations, and generating a report identifying the operations and the untrusted actions of the object.

Systems and methods for virtualized malware detection

Out of band component updating may include receiving a data structure that includes information regarding a component of an application. It may further include determining, from the data structure, that an updated version of the component is available. Out of band component updating may also include storing the updated component in a local data store. It may additionally include, during execution of the application and without shutting down the application, updating the component with the stored updated version of the component. Updating the component may include loading the updated version of the component in a time that is substantially similar to that of a time to load a previous version of the component.

Sensitive information such as credit card information may be isolated from the containers in a separate virtual machine that is configured to be threat resistant, and which can be accessed through a threat resistant interface module. One of the virtual machines of the node may be a node-specific container service machine that is configured to provide storage-related and other support to a hosted executable container.

Architecture for managing i/o and storage for a virtualization environment using executable containers and virtual machines

A system virtualizes applications on a managed endpoint using containers. A managed endpoint receives a virtualized container from an IT automation appliance. The virtualized container includes an application and a virtualization module. The virtualization module includes computer program instructions for virtualizing the application. An operating system API call made by the application during execution is intercepted, and a portion of the computer program instructions are executed based on the operating system API call. The computer program instructions modify the behavior of the application to effect the file and data virtualization of the application. A virtualized container can be deployed and updated from an IT automation appliance along with an agent to support the deployment and updating of the virtualized container.

Deployment and management of virtual containers

In accordance with the present disclosure, a method for operating a virtual application comprises loading an image of the virtual application into a memory of an information handling system from a deployment package is disclosed. A shared library that is required for executing the virtual application is loaded. An address for a memory location corresponding to an entry point for a function in the shared library is saved to an address table for the virtual application. The virtualization data from the deployment package is used to determine whether the address for the memory location corresponding to the entry point for a function in the shared library should be adjusted.
