The invention relates to a device for force simulating on a vehicle actuating element, preferably a pedal force simulator. The device provides haptic feedback via a predetermined force-travel behavior, wherein a displacement element mounted axially movably in a housing is connected to the actuating element. A device in which a position of the displacement element can also be precisely determined in the pedal force simulator comprises an integrated displacement measuring unit for determining a position of the displacement element. The displacement measuring unit comprises a sensor arranged inside or outside the housing, wherein a target connected to the sensor is fixed to the displacement element.

The invention relates to a valve control device (22) for a processing valve (1), comprising an electronic controller (33) for controlling a drive (15) and a measuring system (34) for determining the position of an element (32) which is located within the valve control device (22) and can be moved in said device along a straight movement direction (B). The aim of the invention is to provide a valve control device (22) which achieves a high level or reliability with an inexpensive design. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the measuring system (34) comprises a transmission arrangement (35) for transmitting an electromagnetic excitation wave, a resonator (36) which is secured to the movable element and in which a resonant electric vibration is generated by the excitation wave, a receiving arrangement (37) in which a signal is generated by the electromagnetic resonant wave (R) generated by the resonant electric vibration, and an electronic measuring device (38) which is connected to the transmission arrangement (35) and the receiving arrangement (36) and which is designed to generate the excitation wave in the transmission arrangement (35) and determine the position of the movable element (32) relative to the receiving arrangement (37) from the signal of the receiving arrangement (37). The invention further proposes a processing valve (1) which is improved by means of the valve control device (22) according to the invention.

A method for valve type recognition of a valve connected to an actuator, said valve being one of a first valve type and a second or further valve type. If the maximum allowable stroke of the actuator spindle is the same, or smaller than, a reference value then it is determined that the valve connected to the actuator is of the first valve type. If the maximum allowable stroke is larger than said reference value, the valve is determined to be of the second valve type. An actuator is provided for use in such a method.
