Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of a urine metabolomic signature in patients with advanced-stage chronic kidney disease
Maria Posada-Ayala,Irene Zubiri,Marta Martin-Lorenzo,Aroa Sanz-Maroto,Dolores Molero,Laura Gonzalez-Calero,Beatriz Fernandez-Fernandez,Fernando de la Cuesta,Carlos M. Laborde,Maria G. Barderas,Alberto Ortiz,Fernando Vivanco,Gloria Alvarez-Llamas +12 more
TL;DR: A panel of urine metabolites differentially present in urine that may help identify and monitor patients with CKD are identified and as a proof of principle, are determined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diabetic nephropathy induces changes in the proteome of human urinary exosomes as revealed by label-free comparative analysis.
Irene Zubiri,Maria Posada-Ayala,Aroa Sanz-Maroto,Enrique Calvo,Marta Martin-Lorenzo,Laura Gonzalez-Calero,Fernando de la Cuesta,Juan Antonio López,Beatriz Fernandez-Fernandez,Alberto Ortiz,Fernando Vivanco,Gloria Alvarez-Llamas +11 more
TL;DR: A label-free quantitative comparison of DN urinary exosomes vs control group and SRM further validation, resulted in the discovery of a panel of three proteins which changes in DN, opening a new field of research focused on improving diagnosis and follow-up of this pathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kidney tissue proteomics reveals regucalcin downregulation in response to diabetic nephropathy with reflection in urinary exosomes
Irene Zubiri,Maria Posada-Ayala,Alberto Benito-Martin,Aroa S. Maroto,Marta Martin-Lorenzo,Pablo Cannata-Ortiz,Fernando de la Cuesta,Laura Gonzalez-Calero,Maria G. Barderas,Beatriz Fernandez-Fernandez,Alberto Ortiz,Fernando Vivanco,Gloria Alvarez-Llamas +12 more
TL;DR: Urinary exosomal regucalcin protein expression is reduced in DN kidney tissue and this significant change is reflected in exosomes isolated from urine, which represents a novel tool, which should be explored for early diagnosis and progression monitoring of diabetic kidney disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exosomes: A Potential Key Target in Cardio-Renal Syndrome
TL;DR: The role of exosomes in cardiovascular and renal diseases is focused on, in the search for novel key targets of interaction between heart and kidneys.
Journal ArticleDOI
KLK1 and ZG16B proteins and arginine-proline metabolism identified as novel targets to monitor atherosclerosis, acute coronary syndrome and recovery.
Marta Martin-Lorenzo,Irene Zubiri,Aroa S. Maroto,Laura Gonzalez-Calero,Maria Posada-Ayala,Fernando de la Cuesta,Laura Mourino-Alvarez,Luis F. Lopez-Almodovar,Eva Calvo-Bonacho,Luis M. Ruilope,Luis Rodríguez Padial,Maria G. Barderas,Fernando Vivanco,Gloria Alvarez-Llamas +13 more
TL;DR: Two novel urinary panels of proteins and metabolites are here for the first time shown related to atherosclerosis, ACS and patient’s recovery.
