A systematic approach to multi-period stress testing of portfolio credit risk

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a new method for analysing multi-period stress scenarios for portfolio credit risk more systematically than in the current practice of macro stress testing. And they applied their approach to data from the Spanish loan register and using a portfolio credit model, they showed that compared to standard stress test procedures, their method identifies more harmful scenarios that are equally plausible.

Credit portfolio risk and asset price cycles

TL;DR: This paper attempts to quantify the underestimation of risk measures of portfolio credit risk such as Value at Risk and Expected Shortfall when the dependence between credit risk and asset values is ignored and shows that credit risk is underestimated by a significant margin.
