Prevention of disease progression, left ventricular hypertrophy and congestive heart failure in hypertension treatment trials.
Marvin Moser,Patricia R. Hebert +1 more
TL;DR: The lowering of blood pressure over a 3- to 5-year period of time is effective in preventing severe disease, left ventricular hypertrophy and congestive heart failure in addition to strokes and myocardial infarction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recent evidence on drug therapy of mild to moderate hypertension and decreased risk of coronary heart disease.
TL;DR: A sufficiently high risk of stroke to be the clearest indication for pharmacological therapy of patients with mild to moderate hypertension and the smaller risk reductions in CHD observed in trials than predicted in observational studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Garlic powder and plasma lipids and lipoproteins a multicenter, randomized, placebo-controlled trial
Jonathan L. Isaacsohn,Marvin Moser,Evan A. Stein,Karen Dudley,Janice A. Davey,Ellen Liskov,Henry R. Black +6 more
TL;DR: Garlic powder treatment for 12 weeks was ineffective in lowering cholesterol levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia, and there were no significant lipid or lipoprotein changes in either the placebo- or garlic-treated groups.
