Agricultural leisure is one of the development trends in modern society. However, in leisure agriculture management, managers must consider the dual characteristics of agricultural production technology and the leisure service industry. Therefore, managers often face various selection pressures during management decision-making. This study examined the following five evaluation aspects: organization and operation, leisure agricultural resources, environmental maintenance management, public facility maintenance management, and operational performance. Thereafter, according to the five evaluation aspects, 21 subprojects were further divided at the second level on the basis of different attributes. Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) was adopted to calculate the relative weights of various indicators, and the indicators were dynamically sorted according to their importance. Moreover, the study summarized the dynamic management indicators of leisure agriculture and contributed to research on leisure farming. The results show that managers’ approach toward leisure agriculture management can be divided into three types: active, moderate, and conservative. The indicators in which the active managers attach importance when managing leisure agricultural enterprises are clearly different from those valued by moderate and conservative managers. Finding managers who are suitable for leisure agriculture management is of great significance to leisure agriculture enterprises. Appointing managers with appropriate attitudes who can continuously improve the efficiency of enterprises and create a competitive advantage can bring sustainable business value to these enterprises.

A Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process-Based Analysis of the Dynamic Sustainable Management Index in Leisure Agriculture

Abstract The present study was aimed at assessing more accurately the seismic vulnerability and performance of highway bridges in an earthquake-damaged area. Based on mathematical statistics (data collection) and a probability model, (i) survey data for 2134 bridges in 22 highway sections (47 sub-sections) affected by the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008 were obtained and analysed, (ii) Gaussian and exponential regression models were developed, (iii) the empirical seismic-damage vulnerability function, plane, surface and curve model of the 22 highway sections with sample number and failure ratio were established, and (iv) a regression parameter matrix was constructed considering the empirical seismic-damage data. Using the method of probability exceedance, the bridge vulnerability curve models considering the seismic-damage exceedance probability of each section were analysed, and a parameter matrix model (mean seismic-damage index) was proposed to evaluate and predict the seismic vulnerability of regional bridges. Based on creating the actual seismic-damage sample database, vulnerability point-cloud models of the 22 highway bridges were constructed, and the vulnerability probability matrix, function, curve and point-cloud model of each highway section can be used to evaluate and estimate the vulnerability of regional bridges in the future.

Prioritizing Urban Water Scarcity Mitigation Strategies Based on Hybrid Multi-criteria Decision Approach under Fuzzy Environment

This study is motivated by the Zhuhai municipal government, which needs to select a sustainable ferry operator. Previous research has ignored the evaluation and selection of ferry operators. In addition, since ferry operator evaluation involves conflicting qualitative and quantitative criteria, and there may be uncertainty and ambiguity in the evaluation of criteria by experts, a fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach is required to address this challenge. To this end, this paper proposes an integrated MCDM framework model to evaluate and select the best ferry operator. First, a ferry operator evaluation index system with 15 sub-criteria is constructed according to literature and expert opinions; then the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) is used to determine the subjective weight of the criteria, and the entropy weight (EW) method is used to calculate the objective weight of the criteria. We use the linear weighting method to obtain the comprehensive weights of the criteria; finally, the fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (FTOPSIS) method is adapted to determine the best ranking of the alternatives. This paper takes the Wanshan Islands in Zhuhai as a real case study to verify the proposed FAHP-EW-FTOPSIS method. The results show that the proposed method can be effectively applied to the evaluation and selection of ferry operators. Sensitivity analysis of criteria weights demonstrates the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed framework model. Key findings based on the research provide management insights that can benefit relevant stakeholders. This is the first paper to study the evaluation and selection of ferry operators. Hence, the evaluation index system and integrated framework model proposed in this paper can make important contributions to the evaluation of ferry operators.

A Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Method for Sustainable Ferry Operator Selection: A Case Study

Climate change, population growth and urban sprawl have put a strain on water supplies across the world, making it difficult to meet water demand, especially in city regions where more than half of the world’s population now reside. Due to the complex urban fabric, conventional techniques should be developed to diagnose water shortage risk (WSR) by engaging crowdsourcing. This study aims to develop a novel approach based on public participation (PP) with a geographic information system coupled with machine learning (ML) in the urban water domain. The approach was used to detect (WSR) in two ways, namely, prediction using ML models directly and using the weighted linear combination (WLC) function in GIS. Five types of ML algorithm, namely, support vector machine (SVM), multilayer perceptron, K-nearest neighbour, random forest and naïve Bayes, were incorporated for this purpose. The Shapley additive explanation model was added to analyse the results. The Water Evolution and Planning system was also used to predict unmet water demand as a relevant criterion, which was aggregated with other criteria. The five algorithms that were used in this work indicated that diagnosing WSR using PP achieved good-to-perfect accuracy. In addition, the findings of the prediction process achieved high accuracy in the two proposed techniques. However, the weights of relevant criteria that were extracted by SVM achieved higher accuracy than the weights of the other four models. Furthermore, the average weights of the five models that were applied in the WLC technique increased the prediction accuracy of WSR. Although the uncertainty ratio was associated with the results, the novel approach interpreted the results clearly, supporting decision makers in the proactive exploration processes of urban WSR, to choose the appropriate alternatives at the right time.
