An information recording apparatus (SS1) is provided with: a signal process device (72) for dividing record information (R) to be recorded into a plurality of partial record informations including at least video information, for applying a predetermined signal process to each of the partial record informations to thereby output processed partial record information (Sr, 42, 43, 44), and for generating and outputting, on the basis of control information (Si) which is inputted from the external to control a reproduction of the record information, additional information (Sac, 64: PGCI) including still time information (66E) indicative of a time for performing a still picture reproduction of a final picture of each of the partial record informations which is a picture included in each of the partial record informations at a final portion thereof after reproducing each of the partial record informations, at a time of reproducing the record information, the still time information being set for each of the partial record informations; a multiplex device (75, 76) for multiplexing the processed partial record information and the additional information to thereby generate multiplexed processed record information (Sap); and a record device (77, 78) for recording the multiplexed processed record information onto an information record medium (1: DVD).

The video signal recording and reproducing apparatus of the invention includes: a receiving section for receiving a television signal; an image compression section for compressing an amount of information per unit time of the received continuous video signal; a writing section for intermittently writing a compressed video signal, obtained as an output of the image compression section, onto a hard disk apparatus via a magnetic head; a reading section for intermittently reading out the written compressed video signal from the hard disk apparatus via the magnetic head; a decoding section for restoring the read compressed video signal into an original video signal; a display section for displaying the restored video signal; and a control section for controlling the writing section and the reading section such that writing the video signal onto the hard disk apparatus and reading an arbitrary video signal, which was previously written onto the hard disk apparatus, from the hard disk apparatus are performed apparently simultaneously and continuously.

A multi-scene recording disk and a data reproducing apparatus which enables a user to select and enjoy one of simultaneously proceeding scenes, and also enables a program editor to edit programs using a new concept and novel fashion. Related program movements, each consisting of program bars, are recorded on the disk 100. The data reproducing apparatus includes a data string processing section 203, a system control section 204, an operator panel 205, a video processing section 206, and audio processing sections 211 and 213. The sections 203 and 204 and the panel 205 select any one of the program movements and switch one movement to another, and select any one of the program bars of the movement selected and switch one bar to another. The information thus selected is supplied to the video processing section 206 and the audio processing sections 211 and 213.

Multi-scene recording medium and apparatus for reproducing data therefrom

A disk stores data groups (GOP) of compressed picture data arranged over sectors. A 1st data indicative of a compression method and a 2nd data indicative of the presence of the GOP are contained in a leading sector. Data D (independent frame) is located at the head of the GOP. The 1st and 2nd data and GOP are aligned in order. The 1st data related to a 2nd GOP is detected after data D of the 1st GOP is reproduced to reproduce data D of the 2nd GOP. Data D arranged by an interval in the GOP are reproduced. In a quick traverse/reverse mode, a 2nd data D next to a 1st data D already reproduced is detected from a position of the GOP corresponding to a value obtained by subtracting/adding a fixed value from/to an integerfold of the interval to reproduce the 2nd data. Data D scattered over sectors of a disk are reproduced. Each sector has a 1st and a 2nd field. The 1st field stores signals not interleaved relative to signals of the 2nd field. A positional data of a leading sector is recorded in the 1st field. The leading sector is located in a 3rd field in which data D is recorded. The positional data is detected to reproduce the data D.

Method for jump-reproducing video data of moving picture coded with high efficiency

A picture signal coding method and decoding method and a picture signal recording medium (10) by which a picture is prevented from being interrupted upon high speed reproduction are disclosed. A GOP is constituted from pictures of 15 frames. Of those pictures, an I-picture and P-pictures are collectively treated as pictures for high speed reproduction and are arranged forwardly of the remaining pictures which are B-pictures. Upon high speed reproduction, only the pictures for high speed reproduction are reproduced.

Picture data recording/reproducing system for recording compressed picture data and reproducing recorded data with plural reproduction modes

PURPOSE:To transmit the moving picture data of a high picture quality by encoding the picture data of plural frames altogether, leveling the fluctuation of an encoding data quantity and adjusting a date transfer speed in accordance with the encoding data quantity. CONSTITUTION:A moving picture signal 4 from a moving picture source 3 is stored in a frame memory 7 after converting into picture data 6 on an A/D conversion circuit 5 by (n) frame quantity. A picture encoding circuit 8 encodes the picture data 6 of the (n) frame quantity in the memory 7 and forms the encoded data. A data transfer speed calculation circuit 10 calculates the average data quantity of the encoded date, outputs data transfer speed information 11 and stores in a buffer memory 12 together with the encoded data. These data are editted to a format for an optical disk by a mastering device 13, recorded in the master disk 14 of the optical disk and an optical disk 16 is produced by a press device 15.

Picture data transfer system

PURPOSE: To obtain the recording system of compressed recorded picture data which realizes natural display and has a good convenience for use to users by expanding and reproducing compressed moving picture data, which is taken into a buffer memory at the time of the start of acceptance of user's frame jump indicating request, by a picture decoding means to display a moving picture. CONSTITUTION: Compressed moving picture data taken into the buffer memory at the time of the start of acceptance of the frame jump indicating request is continuously expanded and reproduced by a picture decoding circuit 13 as it is and is alternately written in frame memories A 16 and B 17 and is alternately read out from them and is converted to an analog video signal by a D/A converting circuit 15 and is outputted as a moving picture from a terminal. The last frame picture is repeatedly displayed till display of a desired reproduced picture from a designated reproducing position to reproduce the moving picture as much as possible, and the part displayed as a still picture is minimized.
