A light emitting device includes a film lightguide. The lightguide includes a lightguide region and an array of coupling lightguides continuous with the lightguide region, each terminating in a bounding edge and folded such that the bounding edges define a light input surface. A light source emits light into the light input surface. Light propagates within each coupling lightguide to the lightguide region, with light from each coupling lightguide combining with light from one or more other coupling lightguides and totally internally reflecting within the lightguide region. One or more light extraction features frustrate the totally internally reflected light such that light exits the lightguide in a light emitting region. Surface relief features on a surface of a low contact area cover are adjacent to a region of the lightguide with one or more of the surface relief features contacting the lightguide. A method of producing a device is disclosed.

Illumination device comprising a film-based lightguide

In a flat panel display device, a crack or burr is prevented from occurring by disposing a plurality of supports between adjacent connection members, and the supports are separated from the connection members by a predetermined distance. The flat panel display device comprises: a first substrate, including a plurality of active areas and a plurality of non-active areas; an emission unit disposed in the plurality of active areas; a second substrate connected to the first substrate; a plurality of connection members respectively disposed in the plurality of non-active areas and combining the first substrate and the second substrate with each other; and a plurality of supports disposed between the adjacent connection members so as to be respectively separated from the connection members, and supporting the first and second substrates, wherein the plurality of supports are separated from one another.

Flat panel display device

In one embodiment, a device includes a light transmitting film defining a body and having opposing faces with a thickness between the opposing faces not greater than 0.5 millimeters. A first region is defined within the body representing a region of one or more of a pattern, an indicia, a graphic, and an image that is visible by light extraction when illuminated by light propagating within the film in a waveguide condition. The first region includes a plurality of light extraction features that redirect a portion of light traveling within the film in a waveguide condition that mixes within the legs and the body out of one or more of the opposing faces of the film in the first region. A method of producing a device is also disclosed.

An apparatus in which a pair of hollow molding portions 53 and 54 for molding in which a terminal connecting portion with a terminal fitting 20 crimped onto a conductor 11 at a tip portion of a sheathed wire 10 is accommodated and set are provided inside a mold 50 made up by an upper mold 51 and a lower mold 52 , a molding resin 30 in a molten state being injected and poured into the molding portions 53 and 54 to cover and mold the terminal connecting portion so as to provide waterproofing, the terminal connecting portion subjected to covering and molding being released from the mold so as to be removed outside the mold. A casting surface of the molding portion 53 of the upper mold 51 is provided with a gradient or a curvature for facilitating the release of the terminal connecting portion subjected to covering and molding from the mold, whereby the terminal connecting portion subjected to covering and molding remains in the molding portion 54 of the lower mold 52 during mold releasing.

Waterproof apparatus for terminal connecting portion of sheathed wire

A crimp terminal includes barrel pieces respectively on both of two sides in a width direction thereof. The barrel pieces are included in a pressure-bonding section for pressure-bonding an exposed part of an electric wire conductor of an insulated wire. The insulated wire includes the electric wire conductor and an insulating cover for covering an outer circumference of the electric wire conductor, and the exposed part is a part of the electric wire conductor which is exposed from a tip of the cover by a predetermined length. The barrel pieces have a length in a longitudinal direction which is longer than the length of the exposed part of the electric wire conductor. The pressure-bonding section pressure-bonds, by the barrel pieces, a continuous part from a tip of the electric wire conductor to a position rear to the tip of the cover.

Crimp terminal, connection structural body and connector

A wiring harness is commonly applicable to different types of applications or commonly applicable to different grade applications of the same type. The wiring harness comprises one or more standardized circuit units incorporated into the wiring harness. The circuit unit has a fold to redirect the circuit unit. The circuit unit has a connector at least one end or at least one intermediate portion of the circuit unit, and electrical cables of the circuit units are collectively arranged in the connector. The circuit unit is flexible and is defined in a flat shape. The wiring harness is disposed on a motor vehicle roof.

Wire harness and its manufacturing method

In order to waterproof a terminal connecting portion of a sheathed wire, in which a terminal fitting and a bare conductor of the sheathed wire are connected with each other, the terminal connecting portion of the sheathed wire is placed into a molding cavity of a molding die such that a bottom face of the terminal connecting portion is closely brought into contact with one of inner faces of the molding cavity. Then molten molding resin is injected into the molding cavity such that a bottom face of a solidified molding resin and the bottom face of the terminal connecting portion define an identical plane.

Terminal connecting portion of sheathed wire, method of waterproofing the same, and waterproofing apparatus using the method

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof apparatus for a terminal connecting portion of a covered wire, which apparatus is effective in preventing peeling of a resin. SOLUTION: If a back portion of a terminal connecting portion is covered with a mold resin 30 in a pyramid shape and a covered wire 10 is bent at that portion, a resin is difficult to peel. One side of a mold portion 43 of a metal mold 40 is blocked with upper and lower elastic blocking plates 9a and 9b opposite to each other, the terminal connecting portion is set in the mold portion 43, and a portion of the covered wire extended and protruded backward from one side of the mold portion 43 is elastically supported between the upper and lower elastic blocking plats 9a and 9b. In this state, a molten mold resin 30 is injected into the mold portion 43 to cover almost all the terminal connecting portion. On slanted faces tapered at one side of the mold portion 43 and extended from the inner side of the elastic blocking plates 9a and 9b, there is formed radiating pin portions 45 and 46 in which plural concave portions and plural convex portions are arranged alternately in parallel.
