A plurality of music search factors can be successively input to the system, and one or more candidate pieces are presented based on effective inputs in the input music search factors. A user can efficiently supply the system with various sorts of music search information, and can obtain an optimal search result by using a search method particularly suitable for search by each sort of information. Input score information is reproduced according to the input operation, so that the user can immediately confirm most ambiguous score information when using the score information as search information, thereby reducing the probability of the system making an unnecessary search. A presentation form in which a candidate piece is displayed can be selected from a plurality of forms, thereby enabling the user to recognize candidate pieces in various forms, from which the user will select necessary one by various methods. Thus, the user can select any musical piece in an optimal way according to his or her preference. The degrees of matching of a plurality of candidate pieces to each of musical piece search factors are evaluated and information relating to the evaluation results is simultaneously displayed, thereby suggesting, to a user, musical pieces from which one searched for by the user is probable to be found. A system which includes a CAD system and an electronic filing system, wherein when vector data such as figures and their names are converted to image data for storage, the system automatically extracts, from the vector data coming from the CAD system, data that correspond to predetermined character attributes, maximum numeric attributes, primitives of each figure and the topology thereof. The extracted data is set as key-words and made to correspond to the image data for registration and storage in the electronic filing system. In searching for desired image data, key-words corresponding to the desired image data is input for retrieval and output of the desired image data.

The window 612 functions to change the recognition result of the inputted handwritten characters and also to convert the recognition result into KANJI (Chinese character) from KANA (Japanese syllabary) in a character string. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the operation and to improve the music retrieval accuracy for users in a whole music retrieval system by using an interactive input means which can successively input plural music retrieval elements and shows one car more candidates of music based in the effective input among those inputted music retrieval elements. SOLUTION: In a selection routine, a user selects a piece of music among plural shown candidates of music and the melody of the selected music is shown together with its reference information on the images, etc., (S11). The user decides whether he desires the shown music or wants to hear it (S12). If the user desires the shown music or wants to hear it, it's inquired whether a full melody of the music should be required (S20). Such selection routine and the decision of priority of the music can be repeated by three times (S11 to S16). If the desired music is selected within the three times, the user decides to hear or not to hear the full melody of the music (S20).

PURPOSE: To shorten the time required for user's acquisition of objective voice and music information by providing and controlling a retrieving means which retrieves objective voice and music information from an information storage means and an input/output means which reproduces and inputs this information. CONSTITUTION: This system consists of retrieving means 12 and 13 which retrieve objective voice and music information from an information storage means 7 (optical disk), input/output means 9 and 10 (speaker and microphone) which reproduce voice and music information from the means 7 and input this information, and a control means 1 (microprocessor) which controls respective means. Since the optical disk 7 capable of random access and read after write is used as the storage medium, past voice and music information stored on a record or a tape is easily digitized and recorded. Retrieval is performed based on individual voice and music information itself or its attendant character information or the like. CONSTITUTION:When a command is received from an operator for rotation of a display part 112, a main control part 1 gives a start instruction S to a display rotation control part 9. Thus the part 9 drives a motor 115c via a driver circuit 10. Then the part 1 decides the rotational direction of the part 112 based on the rotational position information received from the rotational position detecting switches 117 and 118. Then the part 1 gives a rotational direction command to the circuit 10 to start the drive of the motor 115c and turns a display screen 111 by 90 deg.. The part 112 is automatically rotated in an automatic rotation mode so as to secure an optimum aspect ratio.

The segmented data 32 is added with its size, the size of characters, the number of characters and the type of characters as additional information, and transmitted to a recognition processor 15. It is activated and the computer is waiting for the processing of the processor 15. Based on an edition program stored on the magnet disk 12, the computer 11 decides the number of recognized characters in the field of the image information where the image dot data 32 shown by the code data 34 lies. PURPOSE:To retrieve a large amount of data to be retrieved at a high speed by retrieval circuits by providing each extension bus with a retrieval circuit, dividing retrieval processing, and carrying out the processing independently by the extension buses. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 actuates an ODA 4 so as to read out data to be retrieved and send it to each extension memory 13. At this time, the CPU 1 sends an indication so as to divide and transfer the data to be retrieved to respective EVMs 13. An SPU 16 which receives the retrieval start signal sets the received parameters in SEs 14 and 15 and sends the address of the EVM 13 stored with the data to be retrieved to the SEs 14 and 15 to output a start instruction signal for retrieval. The SPU 16 sends an end report signal to the CPU 1 on the retrieval processing by the two SEs 14 and 15 and the CPU 1 reads coincident data out of coincident data areas of the respective EVMs 13, thereby finishing the retrieval processing. The retrieval processing is carried out by the extension buses 101 independently.
