Book ChapterDOI

Nebular and extragalactic astronomy from space in the optical region

TL;DR: In this paper, a review deals with the impact that astronomical observations from outer space will have on the fields of nebular and extragalactic research, focusing on the classical optical region of the electromagnetic spectrum extended to the adiacent UV and IR.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sersic galaxy with Sersic halo models of early-type galaxies: a tool for N-body simulations

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present spherical, nonrotating, isotropic models of early-type galaxies with stellar and dark-matter components both described by deprojected Sersic density profiles and prove that they represent physically admissible stable systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

C-M diagram and luminosity function of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 7099. I. Photographic photometry

TL;DR: In this paper, a photographic photometry of about 4400 stars in the field of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 7099 = M30 is presented, and a C-M diagram and a luminosity function are obtained from this photometry.
Book ChapterDOI

Unveiling the IMF of Galactic Globular Clusters: the Case of NGC 1261

TL;DR: The mass-segregation-corrected global mass function of the NGC 1261 has been obtained from a sample of 9400 stars and has a slopex 0 = 1.0 ± 0.5 in the mass interval as mentioned in this paper.
