TL;DR: An intelligent optimizer called advanced firefly algorithm (AFA) is investigated to compute the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller for semi-active suspension system and has shown a significant improvement as the proposed PID-AFA is capable of reducing the amplitude of the sprung acceleration and body acceleration responses.

Self-tuning PID controller for active suspension system with hydraulic actuator

TL;DR: The active suspension system has been proven to perform better than the passive suspension system provided the PID controller parameters are tuned properly, and the comparative assessment indicated that the PID controllers tuned by the iterative learning algorithm for active suspended system with hydraulic actuator has performedbetter than the other two tuning algorithms.
