Amodel for Diffserv use of the IPv6 Flow Label Specification

Heterogeneous networks required IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) technologies to perform their control signaling and improve their communication services. However, the highest IPTV-QoS cannot be performed using IMS only as it cannot differentiate between IPTV video components. In this paper, we implement our IPTV-flow label technique in LTE-WLAN heterogeneous systems that used to improve QoS by providing IPTV sub traffic priority according to the network administrator policy. The proposed architecture has been implemented and analyzed using Opnet Modeler 17.5 software. The produced results demonstrate that IPTV users receive high definition video data with a variation in quantity in conformity with data priority by using Opnet 17.5 software.

QoS Based IPTV over LTE-WLAN Heterogeneous Networks

IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) technologies cannot perform its highest QoS (Quality of Service) approaches as they aren't able to distinguish between the priorities of IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) video components. IMS system also cannot ensure high IPTV data transfer due to the limitation of available cellular bandwidth. In this paper, we try to merge the advantage of high bandwidth assigned to LTE (Long Term Evolution) and a new PHB (Per-Hop Behavior) that classify and differentiate between IPTV sub traffics by using IPv6 Flow Label. This new architecture permits high-quality IPTV video components with the capability to prioritize the sub traffic according to the network administrator policy which itself allows IPTV packets to avoid best-effort treatment. The proposed architecture is implemented using OPNET software using two different scenarios. The obtained results show that IPTV users receive high-quality video data with a change in quantity according to data priority.

A new architecture for enhancing the QoS of IPTV video components in LTE systems

In this paper, we propose an improved QoS for IPTV in LTE (Long Term Evolution) systems by providing the capability to prioritize the sub traffic according to the network administrator policy. Our approach is based on a new definition of the IPv6 flow label field who has not yet been standardized. The proposed architecture is implemented using Riverbed Modeler software. The outcomes exhibit that IPTV users receive high-resolution video data with a change in quantity in conformity with data priority.

A New Architecture for Enhancing the QoS of IPTV Video Components by Merging the Advantages of LTE and PHB

The latest experiences hint that the QoS (Quality of Service) approaches adopted by IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) technologies are still suffering from a primary containment factor due to the nondifferentiation between IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) video components. The success of IPTV services depends on how the customer perceives QoS related to the provided stream. The satisfaction of this factor is crucial to the success of IMS services. This need constitutes a major challenge for the IMS-based IPTV on the horizon of overcoming the failure of existing QoS models namely IntServ and DiffServ. This paper presents a new PHB (Per-Hop Behavior) that reclassifies and differentiates IPTV sub traffics by using the IPv6 Flow Label field. The proposed PHB will make possible prioritization of sub traffic according to the applied QoS network policy. We also suggest the use of OPNET software to implement IMS-Based IPTV scenarios. Results show that the proposed PHB works well and the Video packet losses vary according to the type of IPTV service used by the user.
