An air conditioner and control method thereof is provided which may be controlled to adapt operation to changes in power rates. The method may include receiving electric power related information, determining whether a current power rate included in the received information is higher than a preset reference value, determining occupancy of a space to be air conditioned if the current power rate is higher than the preset reference value, and controlling a flow rate of air supplied to the space based on the determined occupancy.

A refrigerant cycle device includes a first refrigerant passage for guiding refrigerant from a refrigerant radiator to an inlet side of an outdoor heat exchanger, a first throttle part capable of varying an opening area of the first refrigerant passage, a second refrigerant passage for guiding the refrigerant from the outdoor heat exchanger to a compressor-suction side, a first opening/closing part for opening/closing the second refrigerant passage, a third refrigerant passage for guiding the refrigerant from the outdoor heat exchanger to the compressor-suction side via an evaporator, a second throttle part capable of varying an opening area of the third refrigerant passage, a bypass passage for guiding the refrigerant flowing between the refrigerant radiator and the first throttle part to a position between the outdoor heat exchanger and the second throttle part in the third refrigerant passage, and a second opening/closing part for opening/closing the bypass passage.

Refrigerant cycle device

A scheme for monitoring the performance of a gas-phase filter in which upstream and downstream detection surfaces are exposed to upstream and downstream air so that molecular contamination may respectively form non-volatile residue thereon, and the performance of the air filter is determined based on the ratio of the amount of non-volatile residue respectively forming on the upstream and downstream detection surfaces. In another embodiment, a first electrical signal is provided representative of the amount of non-volatile residue forming on the upstream detection surface, a second electrical signal is provided representative of the amount of non-volatile residue forming on the downstream detection surface, and the performance of the air filter is determined in real-time based on the first and second electrical signals that are provided. The detection surfaces of the upstream and downstream detectors may be selected so that the mass of non-volatile residue forming thereon may be determined, either in real-time or by subsequent chemical analysis.

Performance monitoring of gas-phase air filters

An air-conditioning device (100) provided with the following: an outdoor unit (1) containing a compressor (10), a first refrigerant-path switching device (11), and a heat-source-side heat exchanger (12); a heat-medium exchanger (3) containing an inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15), a flow-restriction device (16), a second refrigerant-path switching device (18), and a pump (21); and at least one indoor unit (2) containing a usage-side heat exchanger (26). The compressor (10), the first refrigerant-path switching device (11), the flow-restriction device (16), the second refrigerant-path switching device (18), and the inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15) are connected by refrigerant piping, forming a refrigeration-cycle circuit. The inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15) and the usage-side heat exchanger (26) are connected by heat-medium piping, forming a heat-medium circulation circuit through which a heat medium other than the refrigerant circulates. By switching the first refrigerant-path switching device (11), this air-conditioning device enters a defrost mode wherein the refrigerant discharged from the compressor (10) is supplied to the heat-source-side heat exchanger (12). In said defrost mode, some of the refrigerant flowing from the heat-source-side heat exchanger (12) is supplied to the inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15) without going through the flow-restriction device (16), and the rest is returned to the outdoor unit (1) without going through either the flow-restriction device (16) or the inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15).

Air conditioning device

An air conditioning system that includes desiccant compartments for holding a desiccant; a heat exchanger, a blower and a vessel. The heat exchanger can be filled with a heat transfer medium, while the blower blows ambient air by the heat exchanger such that the blown air is cooled and the heat exchanger is warmed such that thermal energy increases and is transferred from the air to the heat transfer medium causing the heat transfer medium to turn into vapor. The vapor is then diffused to one of the desiccant compartments such that the vapor is adsorbed onto the desiccant creating a mixture. Then an energy source is applied to the mixture such that the vapor and desiccant are separated. The separated vapor is transported to the vessel where it is condensed and then sent back to the heat exchanger, such that the system is able to be continuously operating.

Air-conditioning system

PURPOSE:To prevent the temperature of blown-off air from lowering due to the lowering of the outdoor air temperature and consequently perform comfortable air conditioning by a method wherein the rate of circulating air flow is controlled in response to the height of the temperature of the air blown-off in a passenger compartment during the heating running of a heat pump air conditioning device. CONSTITUTION:The high temperature, high pressure and gaseous refrigerant discharged from a compressor 11 passes through a passage of a four-way change-over valve 12 as indicated with the dash line, enters an indoor heat exchanger 16 acting as a condenser, heat-exchanges with the circulating air supplied by means of an indoor fan 17 from a passenger compartment 4 in order to perform heating action, turns into liquid refrigerant and enters an expansion mechanism 15. When the lowering of heating capacity due to the lowering of the outdoor air temperature causes the lowering of the temperature of the air blown-off, said temperature drop is detected by a temperature sensor 20. When the detected temperature is lower than the set value, the output signal of the sensor 20 is transmitted to a damper motor 19 so as to drive a damper 18 in the direction to narrow the opening of the damper 18. Accordingly, the opening of the damper 18 is throttled and the rate of circulating air flow is reduced and consequently the temperature of the air blown-off is raised, resulting in preventing passengers near a blow- off grill 37 from feeling chilly and as a result not comfortability is impaired.

PURPOSE: To run the moving body in the title at a high speed in the state where rocking in the sideway direction is lessened by providing the secondary spring structure to energize a collector ring in the direction opposite to the energizing direction by the primary spring structure pushing a roller to the vertical surface of a rail. CONSTITUTION: A carriage saddle 21 is provided with two running wheels 22, 24 vertically supporting the dead load of a stacker crane and four guide wheels 29 guiding and supporting the sideway direction on the side of a running rail 11, and a feed rail 12 is set on the inside surface of a vertical piece of the running rail 11. There are provided a spring structure 17 to energize a force to push a pinion roller 18 on a running belt 14 and a spring structure 16 to push a collector ring 31, and in the case when, for example, the stacker crane runs in the left direction, when an outside force in the sideway direction works, it deflects by the amount of a space between the running rail 11 and the guide wheel 29 and by the amount of a collector ring device 13 or spring structures 16, 17 of the collector ring device 13 or a running detector 15 and collision in the sideway direction is eased. PURPOSE: To prevent the propagation of noises of a fan in an air-conditioner by discharging cold air in a cold air duct through a gas-permeable resistance element. CONSTITUTION: The cold air in a cold air duct 6 flows through cold air inlet ports 20 provided in an upper portion of a mount 16, and then through a gas-permeable resistance element 18 and a gas-permeable support 19 into a passenger room. This allows the flow rate of the cold air passing through the inlet ports 20 and air noise to be reduced. PURPOSE: To reduce the thermal load accompanying the ventilation by controlling a mechanism which introduces fresh air in accordance with the degree of contamination of air inside the room. CONSTITUTION: When air inside the room is contaminated and the concentration of CO 2 becomes high, this is detected by a sensor 11, and its output voltage is sent to a CPU15 via an operational amplifier 13 and an A/D converter 14. The CPU15 compares this input with the preset value and operates calculation, and outputs the result of calculation to on/off circuit 19 via PIA18.
