Hetero- and Metallasiloxanes Derived from Silanediols, Disilanols, Silanetriols, and Trisilanols

Hexagonal mesoporous titanosilicates with distinguishable framework charges and textural mesoporosity, namely, Ti-MCM-41 and Ti-HMS, were prepared at ambient temperature by electrostatic and neutral assembly processes, respectively. Titanium incorporation at the 2 mol % level for both materials was accompanied by increases in lattice parameters and wall thicknesses, but the framework pore sizes remained unaffected. Cross-linking of the anionic framework of as-synthesized Ti-substituted MCM-41 prepared by electrostatic S+I- and S+X-I+ assembly pathways (where S+ is a quaternary ammonium surfactant and I- and I+ are ionic silicon precursors) was enhanced significantly by Ti substitution, as judged by 29Si MAS NMR. Ab initio quantum chemical calculations at the SCF level using a split valence plus polarization basis set have been performed on molecules containing Ti, Si, O, and H, which represent substructures of titanozeolites and ETS-10. Their purely siliceous analogues are also studied. Among them is octahydrooctasilasesquioxane. The calculations show that titanium prefers a 4-fold coordination in zeolites. The predicted relative energies and vibrational spectra make it very unlikely that TiO4 tetrahedra share edges with SiO4 tetrahedra. The typical 960-cm-1 vibrational band found for titanium-containing zeolites can be assigned to antisymmetric TiOSi stretching modes of corner-sharing tetrahedra. The frequency shift is due to the fact that the Ti−O bonds are about 20 pm longer than the Si−O bonds. The use of the crystal unit cell size as a measure for the titanium content of zeolites is supported.

The phytochemicals of Tamarindus indica seed hydroalcoholic extract were exploited as a biocatalyst for the sustainable synthesis of magnesium oxide nanoparticles (MgO-NPs). This research investigated the cardioprotective effects of biosynthesized magnesium oxide nanoparticle (MgO-NPs). The biosynthesized seed MgO-NPs were characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV–Vis), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction (EDX), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). These methodological approaches demonstrated their capacity to synthesize crystalline and aggregated MgO-NPs with a size average of 13.38 ± 0.16 nm. The biogenic MgO-NPs were found to have a significant quantity of total phenolic contents (TPC) and total flavonoid contents (TFC), indicating the existence of phenol and flavonoid-like components. The biogenic MgO-NPs demonstrated a significant free radical scavenging effects compared to different standards as measured by the inhibition of free radicals produced in 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate) (ABTS•+), and Nitric oxide (NO) scavenging methods; they also exhibited higher ferric ion reducing capacity in FRAP assay. Moreover, they were found to be non-toxic in cytotoxic assessment. Pretreatment of Wistar Albino rats with seed MgO-NPs resulted in a significant reduction of cardiac biomarkers, i.e., cardiac Troponin-I (cTnI), creatine kinase (CK-MB), and aspartate aminotransferase (AST). The seed MgO-NPs were more successful in reducing lipid levels. The results of the mRNA expression analysis showed that seed MgO-NPs efficiently reduced the expression of the apoptotic genes p53 and Caspase-3 while restoring the expected levels of SOD gene expression. The histopathological observations were primarily focused on the disruption of cardiac fibers and myofibrillar disintegration, which are consistent with the biochemical findings. Therefore, our research suggests that MgO-NPs derived from the seeds of Tamarindus indica as a powerful antioxidant; the administration may be effective in protecting the heart from DOX-induced cardiotoxicity.

Background: With taking into consideration of the high cesarean section (CS) rate, the objectives of this study were to ascertain factors associated with and point out metamorphose complications with high CS rates in Bangladesh. Subjects and Method: A cross-sectional study accounted for data collection from rural (196) and urban (241) women who gave birth to babies between 2005 and 2018 in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The study subjects were selected by using a systematic random sampling technique and the sample size was determined by using web-based Raosoft software. The delivery modes were dependent variables whereas influential factors and complications related to delivery were independent variables. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews using a pre-structured question­naire. The height and weight of the participants were measured by using a stadiometer and weighing machine respectively. Data analysis was done by using regression analysis. Results: The results divulged that mingling of relative influence and doctor’s profit-making tendency, obstetric factors, and demand from a family with higher socioeconomic status contributed to the recent increased cesarean rate in urban areas (41.5%). The distended abdomen in mothers (OR= 5.11, 95% CI= 2.98 to 8.76) was strongly associated with CS (p&lt; 0.05), and back pain, and urinary incontinence were about one and half times higher in CS mothers. However, miscarriage and pelvic organ prolapse were associated with decreased risks of CS. Postnatal complications include cold fever (OR= 11.95, 95% CI= 7.02 to 20.35), and pneumonia (OR= 5.79; 95% CI= 2.71 to 12.36) were highly prevalent in children with cesarean delivery. Conclusion: Cesarean section has become alarmingly increased in urban rather than rural areas of Bangladesh in recent decays. Awareness-raising, doctor commitment, government policy, and strict monitoring of private health facilities are needed to control high rates of cesarean delivery.
