Sources of ultrafine particles and chemical species along a traffic corridor: comparison of the results from two receptor models

TL;DR: In this article, the sources of air pollution were identified by applying two mathematical models to data consisting of particle size distribution and chemical composition data, using positive matrix factorization (PMF) and principal component analysis-absolute principal component scores (PCA-APCS) compared with information from gaseous chemical composition analysis.

Sources of ultrafine particles and chemical species along a traffic corridor : comparison of the results from two receptor models

TL;DR: In this article, positive matrix factorization (PMF) and principal component analysis/Absolute Principal Component Scores (PCA/APCS) were used to determine the sources responsible for the particle size distribution data.
