A role for noradrenaline in pre-eclampsia: towards a unifying hypothesis for the pathophysiology

TL;DR: It is postulated that catecholamines might be an important signal secreted by the fetoplacental unit in pre‐eclampsia, and the activity of synthetic enzymes for catechols in placental and trophoblastic cell cultures is studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reactivity and assay restriction profiles of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies to acid phosphatases: a preliminary study

TL;DR: Some of these reagents could be used in the development of standardised diagnostic immunoassays or as drug-targeting agents for conditions in which the pathological process involves bone resorption, the MAbs G211D, 2H1, 4E6, 5Cl and PAb 8023 being useful in ELISA but not immunocytochemical detection of TRAP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Collagen Phagocytosis by Human Extravillous Trophoblast: Potential Role in Trophoblastic Invasion

TL;DR: Inhibition by cytochalasin B and culture at 4C of uptake of [3H] collagen suggested that the process was phagocytosis, and Confocal microscopy unequivocally localized the phagocytes to the intracellular compartment.
