A fiber routing system with drop-in device protects and organizes cables entering into cabinets and racks and then transports the cables within the cabinets or racks to equipment or connection locations. A drop-in device associated with the fiber routing system manages the cables extending vertically into the fiber routing system and conveys the cables to a horizontal component. A guide body for a cable guide includes a stem having an upper end, a lower end, and a longitudinal axis extending between the upper and lower ends, and base adjacent the lower end of the stem. The guide body is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the stem to configure the base from an unlocked orientation relative to the wire basket cable tray, in which the base is receivable in and removable from a floor opening of a wire basket cable tray, and a locked orientation relative to the wire basket cable tray, in which the base is secured to the wire basket cable tray in the floor opening. Systems and methods that facilitate cables to pass through moving, space-constrained joints and conveying power and/or signals to various robotic joint-associated elements utilize a unitary and flat laminated cable slack within the joint to accommodate the relative motion between mechanical elements of the joints. In various embodiments, the cable has multiple insulated sub-cables; each sub-cable is insulated and physically separable from all other sub -cables. Some of the sub-cables are separated from the cable and electrically connected to joint-associated components for conveying signals and power thereto without mechanically interfering with relative motion between mechanical elements of the joint.

Crossover-bridge cable routers for routing cables through intersections and/or around corners of cable trays are described herein. The crossover-bridge cable router may include a floor, at least a portion of which is substantially horizontal, and at least two ramps, wherein each ramp extends downward from a side of the floor and is positioned either parallel or perpendicular to the other (i.e., opposing or adjacent) ramp.

An apparatus for storing and routing a fiber optic cable to an equipment cabinet is described. The apparatus includes a storage tray having a planar surface for accommodating the fiber optic cable. The tray is mounted to an upper end of the equipment cabinet. The tray has a plurality of routing channels extending along the planar surface and a portion thereof extending along at least one surface of the equipment cabinet generally perpendicular to the planar surface, with each of the routing channels defining a minimum bend radius to restrict over bending of the fiber optic cable. The tray has a central portion for accommodating the fiber optic cable, and the plurality of routing channels are in communication with the central portion and extending downward towards equipment supported by the equipment cabinet.
