Said electronic assembly is characterised by comprising: blocks ( 100, 200, 300 ) of electronic components, the blocks having different heat dissipation needs, the blocks being: a power block ( 100 ), a filter block ( 200 ), a control block ( 300 ), and a device ( 10 ′) for cooling said blocks ( 100, 200, 300 ); said cooling device ( 10 ′) comprising: a protective cover ( 400 ) suitable for covering the power, filter and control blocks ( 100, 200, 300 ), said protective cover comprising openings ( 401, 402, 403, 404 ) suitable for generating cooling air flows which differ according to the heat dissipation needs of each of the power ( 100 ), control ( 200 ) and filter ( 300 ) blocks; and cooling elements ( 101, 201 ) coupled with said protective cover ( 400 ).

A motor drive and method of controlling a motor are provided. The motor drive includes a controller generating a motor reference voltage; a DC bus providing a DC voltage having a ripple; an inverter including power switches operable to convert the DC voltage into an AC motor voltage by modulating the power switches during a plurality of switching cycles, the AC motor voltage based on the motor reference voltage; a capacitor circuit coupled to the DC bus and having a maximum capacitance that is less than 10 microfarads per ampere of a rated current; and voltage prediction logic structured to: detect a voltage value corresponding of the ripple during each of the plurality of switching cycles; and modify the motor reference voltage during each of the plurality of switching cycles using the voltage value.

Motor drive system and method

An electric machine including a rotor and a stator operably coupled with the rotor, electronic components, and a drive shaft disposed along a central axis of the machine. A bearing support supportively surrounds the drive shaft, and a frame end is connected to the stator and has a backface portion to which the electronic components are mounted. The backface portion defines a frame airflow space through which cooling air can flow. The backface portion is sloped relative to the central axis and defines a frame air inlet through which cooling air is received into the frame airflow space, and the frame air inlet is located between the bearing support and the backface portion.
