Abstract: Magnetoencephalogram (MEG) signals recorded from an epileptic subject are processed. The methods of autoregressive (AR) modelling and of modified periodogram are compared on the basis of spectral estimation. It is shown that AR modelling is superior as far as spectral resolution and statistical stability are concerned. The, at least, 10 to 1 data compression achieved by AR modelling, along with the above mentioned advantage, render it suitable for clinical application.
