Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of menstrual cycle on QT interval dynamics.
Mikiko Nakagawa,Tatsuhiko Ooie,Naohiko Takahashi,Yayoi Taniguchi,Futoshi Anan,Hidetoshi Yonemochi,Tetsunori Saikawa +6 more
TL;DR: The effects of the menstrual cycle on QT interval dynamics and the autonomic tone in healthy women are investigated to find out whether these effects are related to ovulation, periodicity, or both.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of fibrotic remodeling and cytokines/chemokines content in epicardial adipose tissue with atrial myocardial fibrosis in patients with atrial fibrillation.
Ichitaro Abe,Yasushi Teshima,Hidekazu Kondo,Haruka Kaku,Shintaro Kira,Yuki Ikebe,Shotaro Saito,Akira Fukui,Tetsuji Shinohara,Kunio Yufu,Mikiko Nakagawa,Naoki Hijiya,Masatsugu Moriyama,Tatsuo Shimada,Shinji Miyamoto,Naohiko Takahashi +15 more
TL;DR: The study demonstrated that fibrotic remodeling and cytokines/chemokines in peri-LA EAT were associated with atrial myocardial fibrosis as a substrate of AF and suggested that overexpression of Hif-1α and Angptl2 may be involved in these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Production of reactive oxygen species in the diabetic heart. Roles of mitochondria and NADPH oxidase.
Yasushi Teshima,Naohiko Takahashi,Satoru Nishio,Shotaro Saito,Hidekazu Kondo,Akira Fukui,Kouhei Aoki,Kunio Yufu,Mikiko Nakagawa,Tetsunori Saikawa +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of mitochondria and NADPH oxidase in cardiovascular complications in diabetes mellitus (DM) has been investigated, and it has been shown that mitochondria are dominant mechanisms of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production.
Journal ArticleDOI
Circadian variation of QT interval dispersion : Correlation with heart rate variability
TL;DR: The results suggest that an increased sympathetic tone or a decreased vagal tone increases QT dispersion in healthy subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glucose fluctuations increase the incidence of atrial fibrillation in diabetic rats
Shotaro Saito,Yasushi Teshima,Akira Fukui,Hidekazu Kondo,Satoru Nishio,Mikiko Nakagawa,Tetsunori Saikawa,Naohiko Takahashi +7 more
TL;DR: Increased ROS levels caused by upregulation of Txnip expression may be a mechanism whereby in glucose fluctuations induce fibrosis, and glucose fluctuations increase the incidence of AF by promoting cardiac fibrosis.
