Partitioning of organic compounds in octanol-water systems
TL;DR: Van Vleet, E., Quinn, J. J. Williams, P. M. Clark, R. C., Macled, W. Enuiron as mentioned in this paper, Vol. I, pp 91-199.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Partition-Limited Model for the Plant Uptake of Organic Contaminants from Soil and Water
TL;DR: The model analysis indicates that for plants with high water contents the plant-water phase acts as the major reservoir for highly water-soluble contaminants, while the lipid in a plant, even at small amounts, is usually the major reservoirs forhighly water-insoluble contaminants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of the Polanyi adsorption potential theory to adsorption from solution on activated carbon
Milton Manes,L. J. E. Hofer +1 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Sorption of N2 and EGME vapors on some soils, clays, and mineral oxides and determination of sample surface areas by use of sorption data
TL;DR: In this paper, the N[sub 2] monolayer capacities of EGME were calculated from the BET equation and used to determine the surface areas for sand, aluminum oxide, kaolinite, hematite and synthetic hydrous iron oxide.
