The method comprises displaying an image, the image comprising a portion of an object; and determining if an edge of the object is in a location within the portion. The method further comprises detecting movement, in a member direction, of an operating member with respect to the edge. The method still further comprises moving, if the edge is not in the location, the object in an object direction corresponding to the detected movement; and modifying, if the edge is in the location, the image in response to the detected movement, the modified image comprising the edge in the location.

The motion vector detector is configured to detect a motion vector by using an image that is made up of multiple pixels and acquired by an image sensor having time integration effects. The motion-blurring-mitigated image generator is configured to generate a motion-blurring-mitigated image in which motion blurring of a moving object is mitigated by using the motion vector detected by the motion vector detector on the assumption that a pixel value of pixel of the moving object in the image is a value obtained by integrating, in a time direction, a pixel value of each pixel in which no motion blurring that corresponds to the moving object occur as it is moved. The spatial resolution creation unit is configured to generate an image that has a higher spatial resolution than that of the image made up of the multiple pixels by using the motion vector detected by the motion vector detector and the motion-blurring-mitigated image from the motion-blurring-mitigated image generator.

To allow graders to make optimally looking content of HDR scenes for various rendering displays, we invented an image encoder (202) comprising: an input (240) for a high dynamic range input image (M_HDR); an image grading unit (201) arranged to allow a human color grader to specify a color mapping from a representation (HDR_REP) of the high dynamic range input image defined according to a predefined accuracy, to a low dynamic range image (Im_LDR) by means of a human-determined color mapping algorithm, and arranged to output data specifying the color mapping (Fi(MP_DH)); and an automatic grading unit (203) arranged to derive a second low dynamic range image (GT_IDR) by applying an automatic color mapping algorithm to one of the high dynamic range input image (M_HDR) or the low dynamic range image (Im_LDR). We also describe and interesting new saturation processing strategy useful in the newly emerging high dynamic range image handling technology.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can immediately distinguish a sheet of recording paper on which an image is printed using a decoloring ink, and can also immediately distinguish a sheet of recycled paper printed with the decoloring ink even if the decoloring ink is erased. SOLUTION: The image forming device can form an image using a decoloring ink which loses a color by heating and a non-decoloring ink which does not lose a color by heating. The image forming device include an image generation section for generating image data, a printing section for printing the image data generated in the image generation section on a sheet of recording paper, an ink specifying section for specifying either a decoloring ink or a non-decoloring ink as an ink for printing the image data, and a symbol adding section for adding a symbol showing that the image data have been formed using the decoloring ink outside an image data forming range based on the ink specification result by the ink specifying section. An area of the document Dc where it is assumed that there is no print is irradiated with the light from a light source S and its reflected light is photodetected by a color information sensor 50 to acquire a mean color density value of the area. A color density value of the ground color is estimated based upon acquisition results. Even if an image of print etc., other than the ground color is slightly and locally present, its influence can be ignored. The read image data have a color density value, corresponding to the estimated value, replaced with a color density value of white.
