Journal ArticleDOI

IAP family protein expression correlates with poor outcome of multiple myeloma patients in association with chemotherapy-induced overexpression of multidrug resistance genes

TL;DR: Findings indicate that IAP family proteins might play a role in worsening the prognosis of MM patients in association with chemotherapy‐induced overexpression of MDR1 or LRP, and changes in the expression of IAPs induced by chemotherapy did not correlate with their prognosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Expression of TNF receptors and related signaling molecules in the bone marrow from patients with myelodysplastic syndromes.

TL;DR: TNF- alpha-induced apoptosis may play a role in ineffective hematopoiesis in "early stage MDS" bone marrow, although the regulatory mechanisms for TNF-alpha-induced signaling would be complicated and not be simply explained only by these pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI

Expression of IAP family proteins in myelodysplastic syndromes transforming to overt leukemia.

TL;DR: Comparing the expression of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) gene family proteins in bone marrow samples from control, MDS, OL transformed from MDS (MDS --> OL), and de novo acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) subjects by the quantitative real-time RT-PCR method and an immunohistochemical approach indicates that these IAPs could be associated with the early events in the development of OL.
Journal ArticleDOI

Differential expression of survivin in bone marrow cells from patients with acute lymphocytic leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

TL;DR: Observations indicate a differential regulatory mechanism for the expression of IAP family proteins in ALL and CLL cells, although the functions of I AP families and the mechanisms of nuclear/cytoplasmic transport of survivin should be clarified in future studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Expression of IAP-family proteins in adult acute mixed lineage leukemia (AMLL).

TL;DR: Findings suggest that higher expression of various IAPs is associated with the chemotherapy‐resistant nature of this specific type of leukemia.
