Journal ArticleDOI

Attachment of hyaluronan to metallic surfaces.

TL;DR: Results of a technique to mask the surface of metals with a natural biopolymer, hyaluronan, show potential for modulating cell growth and cellular interactions with metallic implants, such as vascular stents, orthopedic implants, heart valve cages, and more.
Journal ArticleDOI

Attachment of hyaluronic acid to polypropylene, polystyrene, and polytetrafluoroethylene

TL;DR: Surfaces of polypropylene, polystyrene and polytetrafluoroethylene were activated with radio frequency plasmas Ar and NH3 to aminate the polymer surface and reacted with hyaluronic acid (HA) in one of the three different attachment schemes, suggesting that steric effects were involved with the reactivity of the HA with surface groups.
