A cleaning composition comprising: a) about 0.1 % to about 99.9 % by weight of said composition of an alkylarylsulfonate surfactant system comprising from about 10 % to about 100 % by weight of said surfactant system of two or more crystallinity-disrupted alkylarylsulfonate surfactants of the formula: (B-Ar-D)a(Mq+)b (defined herein after); and b) from about 0.00001 % to about 99.9 % by weight of said composition of cleaning composition adjunct ingredients, at least one of which is selected from the group consisting of: i) detersive enzymes; ii) organic detergent builders; iii) oxygen bleaching agent; iv) bleach activators; v) transition metal bleach catalysts; vi) oxygen transfer agents and precursors; vii) polymeric soil release agents; viii) water-soluble ethoxylated amines having clay soil removal and antiredeposition properties; ix) polymeric dispersing agents; x) polymeric dye transfer inhibiting agents; xi) alkoxylated polycarboxylates; and xii) mixtures thereof.

Detergent compositions containing mixtures of crystallinity-disrupted surfactants

Cleaning compositions, especially laundry detergents and the like comprising: (i) modified alkylarylsulfonate surfactants, e.g., modified alkylbenzenesulfonates, which are the product of particular processes and (ii) cleaning adjuncts such as enzymes and bleaches. Processes for making the cleaning products, including processes comprising vinylidene olefin production, alkylation of arenes, sulfonation and domestic cleaning product formulation. VO production is used to introduce particular limited branching into an alpha-olefinic feedstock which, converted to dimer form, has from about 10 to about 16, preferably from about 12 to about 14 carbon atoms. Preferred processes maximize the amount of vinylidene olefin useful for detergent manufacture, and minimize deep internal olefin production. Further, an alkylation step, preferably having an internal isomer selectivity of from 0 to no more than about 40 is used, in which the VO monoalkylates arenes such as benzene, in presence of an alkylation catalyst preferably comprising an at least partially crystalline, porous zeolite-containing solid, the zeolite being at least partially acidic and having intermediate pore size. Preferred alkylation catalysts include at least partially dealuminized acidic mordenites.

A method of preparing a xylene product is carried out by providing a reactor containing a non-steamed, phosphorus-treated ZSM-5-type zeolite catalyst. The catalyst is contacted with a toluene/methanol feed and a cofeed of hydrogen under reactor conditions suitable for the methylation of toluene. Water is introducing into the reactor during the methylation reaction under conditions that provide substantially no structural aluminum loss of the catalyst from such introduction of water.

This invention relates to a method for separating olefins and paraffins from oxygenates in a liquid hydrocarbon stream containing a high proportion of olefins, paraffins and oxygenates (mainly alcohols). Typically, the hydrocarbon stream is obtained from a Fischer-Tropsch process. The organic counter-solvent has a boiling point which is less than the boiling point of the most volatile alcohol in the hydrocarbon stream. A raffinate from the liquid-liquid extractor is passed to a distillation column. A bottoms product from the distillation column comprises olefins and paraffins, and the overhead product comprising solvents is recycled. An extract from the liquid-liquid extractor is sent to a stripping column, where a bottoms product containing pure alcohol is obtained. The overhead product containing counter-solvent is recycled.

Separation of oxygenates from a hydrocarbon stream

An alkylated aromatic hydrocarbon is produced having the following properties: (a) less than 40 wt. % of the alkylated aromatic hydrocarbon is 2-aryl; and (b) at least 20 wt. % of the alkylated aromatic hydrocarbon is a monoalkylate. That alkylated aromatic hydrocarbon is produced by isomerizing a normal alpha-olefin having from 20 to 28 carbon atoms in the presence of a first acidic catalyst to produce a partially-branched, isomerized olefin, then either benzene or toluene is alkylated with the partially-branched, isomerized olefin in the presence of a second solid, acidic catalyst. The first acidic catalyst can be a molecular sieve with a one-dimensional pore system. The second acidic catalyst can be a zeolite Y having a silica to alumina ratio of at least 40:1.

Process for producing an alkylated, non-oxygen-containing aromatic hydrocarbon

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkylated aromatic hydrocarbon containing no oxygen by which an alkylaromatic product or an alkylate is obtained by alkylating an aromatic hydrocarbon containing no oxygen by using a safer and simpler catalyst preferably in a solid state. SOLUTION: A 14-30C n-α-olefin is isomerized in the presence of the first acidic catalyst (e.g. unified pore type molecular sieves) to form an isomerized olefin. Further, an aromatic hydrocarbon containing no oxygen, preferably benzene, toluene, etc., is alkylated by the isomerized olefin in the presence of the second solid acid catalyst. Further, acidic molecular sieves or a zeolite is used as the second solid acidic catalyst in the method for producing an alkylated aromatic hydrocarbon containing no oxygen. The alkylate products having comparative characteristics are obtained by both a batch method and a continuous flow fixed bed method, and some chemical characteristics of the alkylate are regulated by the method.
