Inhibitory effect of zingiber officinale towards Streptococcus mutans virulence and caries development: in vitro and in vivo studies
TL;DR: In vitro and in vivo activity of crude extract and methanolic fraction at sub- MIC levels against cariogenic properties of S. mutans were investigated and it was found that these extracts strongly inhibited a variety of virulence properties which are critical for its pathogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy of E. officinalis on the Cariogenic Properties of Streptococcus mutans: A Novel and Alternative Approach to Suppress Quorum-Sensing Mechanism
TL;DR: The potential of E. officinalis fruit extracts as an alternative and complementary medicine for dental caries by inhibiting the virulence factors of Streptococcus mutans is revealed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Computer Aided Drug Design and its Application to the Development of Potential Drugs for Neurodegenerative Disorders
TL;DR: Computer-Aided Drug Design can assist researchers studying interactions between drugs and receptors and its applications towards the discovery of new drug candidates against various fatal NDs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure based virtual screening to discover putative drug candidates: Necessary considerations and successful case studies
Mohd Danishuddin,Asad U. Khan +1 more
TL;DR: The present article describes some of the work, addresses the important issues for successful structure-based virtual screening, and few recent case studies, where the virtual screening approaches have been applied successfully in designing putative drug candidates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biochemical characterization of CTX-M-15 from Enterobacter cloacae and designing a novel non-β-lactam-β-lactamase inhibitor.
TL;DR: It is found that tazobactam is the best among these inhibitors against CTX-M-15, and ZINC03787097 compound can be used as seed molecule to design more efficient non-β- lactam containing β-lactamase inhibitor that could evade pre-existing bacterial resistance mechanisms.
