Design of multi band triangular microstrip patch antenna with triangular split ring resonator for S band, C band and X band applications

In this paper, a rectangular triple-band microstrip antenna has been designed for Bluetooth application by successively loading notches and slots of different dimension in radiating patch. The conventional microstrip antenna suffers with narrow impedance bandwidth. The current work affords an alternate option to enhance the bandwidth of antenna that resonates in triple-band operation. Initially, the antenna is resonating in single-band but after loading slots, the bandwidth of microstrip antenna has been obtained 1.97% (lower band), 10.35% (middle band) and 33.16% (upper band) resonating in triple-band with three resonant frequency at 1.422 GHz (lower resonant frequency), 1.791 GHz (middle resonant frequency) and 2.467 GHz (higher resonant frequency). The suggested antenna has upper frequency band in the range of 2.045–2.858 GHz resonating at 2.467 GHz frequency and it is appropriate for Bluetooth applications (2.40–2.48 GHz) and both lower band useful for other wireless (L-band) applications. The return loss of upper band is − 34.52 dB at 2.467 GHz. The suggested microstrip antenna is directly fed by 50 ohm microstrip line feed. The suggested antenna has been designed, simulated and analyzed by IE3D simulation software.

Design and Analysis of Triple-Band Rectangular Microstrip Antenna Loaded with Notches and Slots for Wireless Applications

In this paper, the slot loaded microstrip antenna has been developed with Sierpinski gasket technique The proposed Modified Square Sierpinski Gasket (MSSG) fractal antenna involves a square patch utilizing Sierpinski gasket (triangular) structure Four triangular slots are loaded at each iteration The structure is then simulated using commercially available Ansoft HFSS simulator The multi-band operation has been achieved by the proposed antenna at 15915 GHz, 20045 GHz, 23077 GHz, 2777 GHz frequencies with −20 dB, −25 dB, −22 dB, −28 dB return loss respectively which works well for Ku (12–18 GHz) and K (18–27 GHz) band The consistent result is obtained after simulation and the validity of fabricated design is checked by the measured result The designed antenna is an attractive candidate for applications like wireless multi-band communication systems

Analysis of Modified Square Sierpinski Gasket fractal microstrip antenna for Wireless communications

A multi-band, high gain, miniaturized fractal microstrip antenna is described in this article for modern communication systems Space-utilizing and structure-similarity are the two main characteristics of fractal miniaturization technique In the proposed design, a hexagonal Sierpinski gasket structure is loaded on a square microstrip antenna Using fractal miniaturization techniques, the patch area is reduced by 684% along with 1688% increase in the perimeter by loading several triangular slots of different dimensions in various iterations The simulation and optimization of various iterations are analysed using Ansoft HFSS simulation tool and verified with fabricated antenna results The proposed design presents the hexa-band, dual-polarization performance at 346, 828, 1226, 1721, 2340, 2601 frequencies (GHz) with Peak Gain (dB) of 6, 837, 965, 9, 784 and 934 respectively The designed miniaturized hexagonal fractal antenna exhibits high gain, high directivity, omnidirectional radiation pattern entire multi-resonant frequency and useful for modern wireless communications like 5G and IoT application, satellite and Radar applications etc

Analysis of a Miniaturized Hexagonal Sierpinski Gasket fractal microstrip antenna for modern wireless communications

This paper presents a novel wide-band microstrip antenna using tow symmetrical U-slots in the patch. The presented antenna occupies small size of 30 × 40 × 0.8 mm 3 which printed on an FR-4 substrate with a dielectric constant 4.3. A gap is printed on the ground plane to provide a better performance of the proposed antenna. The antenna covers the range of 2.1711 to 4.0531 GHz. The antenna can be easily fed using a 50 Ω Microstrip line feed, and it is suitable for WLAN, LTE and WiMAX applications. The Antenna structure is designed and optimized by using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) software

Multi-Band Fractaled Triangular Microstrip Antenna for Wireless Applications

This paper presents a Quad-Rectangular Shaped Microstrip Antenna (QRSMA) fed by a single microstrip line feed. QRSMA having different frequency bands is designed to be applied to L (1–2 GHz), S (2–4 GHz) and C (4–8 GHz) bands applications. QRSMA is loaded with a single square patch and 4 rectangular patches. The patches are loaded using a flame retardant substrate (Fr-4). The patches are connected with 1 mm width of copper (Cu) strip-line. Thus the proposed design of patches and width is responsible for desired multiband operations. The antenna resonates at frequencies f1 = 1.074, f2 = 3.119, f3 = 4.089, f4 = 5.683 and f5 = 6.514 GHz. Thus, the antenna is useful in the L, S and C band applications. Compared to other antenna designs, the proposed antenna exhibits multiband performance, size reduction and is economical. It also realizes tunability of frequencies having stable radiation pattern with compact electrical size. The paper analyses the simulated and experimental results. Various cases of QRSMA performances are also compared in this paper.

Design of Multiband Quad-Rectangular Shaped Microstrip Antenna for Wireless Applications.

In this paper, an inset feed toppled H-shaped microstrip patch antenna with grounded plane is investigated for triple band operation. The simulation of proposed antenna geometry has been performed using IE3D simulation software based on method of moment. The prototype of the proposed antenna has been fabricated and tested to validate the simulation work. The measured results indicate that the reflection coefficient is better than -10dB for 1.8 GHz (PCS), 3.5 GHz (WiMAX), and 5.5 GHz (WiMAX) frequencies.

Inset Feed Toppled H-Shaped Microstrip Patch Antenna for PCS/WiMAX Application

Here, a neoteric Fractal Microstrip patch antenna (MSA) has been proposed using Rotated Square Sierpinski Gasket (RSSG) structure. The key contribution of this article is to design a reduced size of MSA using modified Sierpinski gasket structure and to achieve multiband applications. The parametric performance of RSSG fractal antenna has been completed using HFSS simulation software. The antenna resonates at different frequencies at 6.95 GHz, 15.77 GHz, 18.24 GHz, 20.91 GHz and 25.63 GHz bands, respectively. The multiband behavior of the designed antenna is obtained which works well for C-band, Ku- band, and K-band Application. The simulated result shows that the proposed technique outperforms conventional approaches significantly.
