A storage wire including a storage electrode line in the horizontal direction, a storage electrode connected to the storage electrode line, and at least one of the storage electrode connection portions connecting storage electrodes of neighboring pixels is formed in the same direction as the gate line. A redundant repair line overlaps and is insulated from the storage wire at one end and overlaps the storage wire or the gate wire of a neighboring pixel at the other end is formed in the same layer as the data wire. Also, a storage wire connection portion connecting the storage wires of a neighboring pixel is formed in the same layer as the pixel electrode. In this structure, if portions of the gate wire or the data wire are disconnected, the portions overlapping the disconnected wire, the storage wire, and the redundant repair line are shorted to repair an open wire defect.

CONSTITUTION: In a method of dividing one field display interval for every pixel to sub-field intervals with the number N of bits of display gradation, and weighting to the number of display pulses in respective sub-field intervals and displaying a halftone image, the brightness of the display image is divided into three stages according to the value of the APL, and the number N is switched according to the stage of the brightness of the display image so that the more the display image becomes bright, the more the number of display gradation is increased. When the APL is <10%, a signal for eight bits gradation whose maximum display number of pulse is 512, is level-converted to the signal for six bits gradation whose luminance is large and whose maximum display number of pulse is 896 as shown by conversion pattern (1) in the figure, and when 10%≤APL<25%, the signal for eight bits gradation is level-converted to the signal for seven bits gradation whose maximum display number of pulse is 640 as shown by conversion pattern (2). CONSTITUTION: In the display panel (for example, plasma display panel) which displays gradation by a sub field method, moving quantity Xf(=V.Tf) and a direction X in one field period (one example unit display period) of a video displayed on the display panel are detected at every bit, and motion correction quantity Xs(=V.Ts) is found based on a detection value and a dividing period ratio Ts/Tf in one field period of each bus field screen (for example, [SF2]), and the video (animation 32) on a corresponding sub field screen [SF2] is moved in a detecting direction by the motion correction quantity Xs, and the false image can be eliminated by preventing a display position at every bit from being dislocated when the animation 32 is traced by the eye.
