Journal ArticleDOI

High temperature oxidation of TiCrN coatings deposited on a steel substrate by ion plating

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the oxidation behavior of TiCrN coatings having compositions of TiO 2 and Cr 2 O 3, and they found that the coating elements diffused either outwardly or inwardly, depending on the concentration gradients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of intermediate Cr-C layer fabricated by electrodeposition in hexavalent and trivalent chromium baths

TL;DR: The effect of formic acid and current density on the crystal structure, surface morphology and crystallization of intermediate Cr-C layers deposited in both hexavalent and trivalent chromium baths were studied to observe chrome-carbide formation behavior and to develop an environmental protective CR-C electroplating technology.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Mold Material and Binder on Metal-Mold Interfacial Reaction for Investment Castings of Titanium Alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, the combined effect of mold material and binder for investment casting of titanium and titanium alloys was investigated, and the result showed that the titanium castings produced using ZrO2 and Al2O3 mold had a clear reaction whereas a negligible reaction occurred in the castings in CaO, CaZrO3 and graphite molds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Duplex coating for improvement of corrosion resistance in chromium deposit

TL;DR: Amorphous bright chromium deposit was electroplated in a modified Sargent bath containing formamide and a Cr-C amorphous film was applied to chromium as an inner layer in order to enhance corrosion resistance as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructure of electroplated hard chromium coatings after plasma nitrocarburizing

TL;DR: In this article, a 6-7-μm-thick nitride layer consisting of CrN and Cr 2 N was formed on the surface of hard chromium coating with the microhardness of about 950-1100 HV 0.1.
