Synthesis “in situ” of nanoparticles in reverse micelles

TL;DR: In this article, functionalized reverse micelles are used to control the size and the polydispersity of the metallic and semiconductor particles, and the size of the particles can be controlled, either by the amount of water solubilized in the droplets, or by the solvent used to form reverse mouselles or by adding macrocyle molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI

Micellar factors which play a role in the control of the nanosize particles of cobalt ferrite

TL;DR: In this article, an increase in the formal oxidation degree of iron and cobalt ions with the increase in surfactant concentration has been observed, which could be correlated to the increase of the particle size with surfactants concentration, and the average size of the particles is determined by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction by small angle X-rays scattering and simulation of magnetization curves.
Book ChapterDOI

Control of the Size and Shape of Nanoparticles

TL;DR: The use of dispersed media to synthetize microparticles in "situ" has made considerable progress in the last few years: Reverse micelles, Langmuir-Blodgett films, zeolites, vesicles, glass matrices and sol-gel methods as mentioned in this paper.
