TL;DR: In this article, a fan guard is constituted such that the sizes and existing density of component members in the vicinity of a part where the flow rate becomes highest are decreased in order to minimize the entire noise.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To minimize noise entirely in a fan guard for protecting the rotating plane of a propeller fan, by decreasing the sizes of the existing density of component members in the vicinity of a part where the flow rate becomes maximum. CONSTITUTION:A heat-exchanger 2, a blower 3 and a fan guard 4 are arranged in the upper section of a machine chamber 1. Air flows as indicated by vacant arrows, so as to exchange heat with coolant in the heat-exchanger 2. Noise produced from a fan guard 4 is the sum of parts of noise generated which are determined by the crosssectional shapes and sizes of the component members and the flow rate of air. Accordingly, the fan guard 4 is constituted such that the sizes and existing density of component members in the vicinity of a part where the flow rate becomes highest are decreased in order to minimize the entire noise. For example, the sectional shapes of the component members are made to be circular, or to have small diameters, and the number of the component members is decreased.
