A vibration suppressing structure including a main structure and a vibration suppressing section disposed in an upper portion of the main structure which is provided with an auxiliary structure adapted to undergo vibration in response to the vibration of the main structure occurring due to a disturbance, an auxiliary mass, a driving device, and a damper. The displacement of the auxiliary structure caused by the vibration is transmitted to the auxiliary mass via the driving device, and the auxiliary mass is controlled by an amount of movement directly proportional to the amount of displacement. The vibration suppressing section is arranged such that the damping coefficient of the damper, the magnitude of the auxiliary mass, and the ratio of the amount of movement of the auxiliary mass to an amount of displacement of the auxiliary structure which are included in a mass matrix M T for the vibration suppressing section, a damping matrix C T , a stiffness matrix K T , a location vector i T of a disturbance, are adjusted in such a manner that the relationships of (ω T j ) 2 ·M T ·i T =K T ·i T and 2h T ·ω T j ·M T ·i T =C T ·i T hold, with respect to a natural frequency ω T j of a j-th mode and a predetermined damping factor h T , thereby constituting a system of a pseudo singe degree of freedom. A vibration suppressing structure is obtained which is capable of effectively suppressing vibrations in a multi-storied structure and which can make effective use of the space within the structure.

PURPOSE:To display damping force to seismic force by providing the rigid foundation around the foundation of a structure to be constructed on the weak ground, and jointing this structure to the rigid foundation by various dampers. CONSTITUTION:Rigid foundation structure 3 with its vertical deformation firmly fixed by piles 4, ground anchors 5, and the like is provided around the foundation 2 of a structure 1, and the structure 1 and the rigid foundation structure 3 are jointed by various dampers 8, vibration control devices. The piles 4 driven into the ground include the case of being driven directly under the structure 1 or the case of soil improvement in place of the piles 4. The vertical deformation of the foundation part at the time of the top part of the structure 1 being horizontally deformed by seismic force is forced to act upon the dampers 8 so as to perform required earthquake control. In addition to thus reducing the fixed quantity of vibration to a large earthquake, an added weight type vibration control device 6 is installed at the top part or the like of the structure 1, and various vibration control devices 7 passive, active, and the like are further installed in the important positions of the structure 1 so as to reduce vibration effectively in combination with the dampers 8 at the foundation part.

PURPOSE:To eliminate unpleasant sounds by measuring a solid low vibrating status quantity of a building generating from a track with sensors, comparing the information of the status quantity with a known characteristic of the building to output a control signal, and driving vibrators to vibrate reversedly the building. CONSTITUTION:Vibration sensors 3 are placed in a plurality of places in a building 1 drawing a railway track 2 in the inside of a construction, and vibration is converted into an electric signal. After that, the electric signal is inputted to a controller 6 such as a digital controller, etc., through an amplifier 4 and an A/D converter 5. Then, in the controller 6, an input signal is compared with the known characteristics of the building 1 such as a natural period of the building 1, attenuation vibration form, etc., and a feedback grain obtaining the optimal controlling force to reduce vibrations of the skeleton is calculated. A digital signal of the calculated gain is transmitted to vibrators 8 arranged in proper positions of the building 1 through the D/A converter, and the building 1 is vibrated reversedly.
