Integrating dual antennae into a single rigid assembly guarantees parallel alignment between the antennae and provides higher isolation with lower insertion loss than duplexing methods can achieve through a single antenna. The resulting higher performance at lower cost can benefit two-way communication systems using time division duplexing, frequency division duplexing, or polarization division duplexing; or combinations of these methods.

Aligned duplex antennae with high isolation

A wideband reflectarray antenna for dual polarizations application is formed by an array (451) of phasing cells (2"), where each cell (2") contains two orthogonal or quasi-orthogonal sets of parallel conductive dipoles printed on two levels of a multilayered grounded substrate. The dipoles for each polarization are coupled in both horizontal and vertical directions, providing a large broadband operation and low cross-polarization with only two levels of metallizations. The antenna is designed by adjusting the lengths of the dipoles to produce the phase-shift required to collimate or shape the radiated beam in dual-polarization when illuminated by a feed, either in broadband or dual- frequency operation. The invention also relates to a design and manufacturing method for producing the reflectarray antenna, based on the optimization of the dipole lengths for each phasing cell.

Wideband reflectarray antenna for dual polarization applications

An antenna array of parabolic rectangular reflectors for use in satellite communications. The antenna comprises two parabolic reflectors disposed contiguously on a common outer surface. The common surface forms a continuous antenna aperture. The parabolic reflectors have rectangular side edges which permit the adjacent edges of the parabolic reflectors to be spaced closely. The mouth of each parabolic reflector is focussed on a separate feed. The focus of the feed is not located at the center of the reflector but rather offset. The antenna feeds and the reflector foci are displaced toward the center of the array such that the spacing between the antenna feeds is less than half the length of the antenna. The present invention provides the displacement of each reflector focal point and each antenna feed toward the center of the array.

Low sidelobe contiguous-parabolic reflector array

An antenna system consisting of parabolic rectangular reflectors disposed contiguously in a linear array. The use of parabolic rectangular reflectors permits the reflectors to form a larger common rectangular aperture without gaps in illumination. The contiguous array of parabolic rectangular reflectors permits a lower profile which is ideal for use on an aircraft. Each parabolic rectangular reflector has its own feed system and each of the feeds are excited in phase. The combined radiation patterns of the parabolic reflectors produces a beam with a narrow width. This narrow beamwidth permits the system to communicate with one source while filtering out signals coming from other sources. In one embodiment, the antenna system may be mechanically steered in order to communicate with a transmitter and/or receiver whose relative position is continuously varying with respect to the antenna system.

A long term evolution outdoor antenna and module that provides a compact design for wide band performance is provided. In one embodiment, the antennas comprises a top element, a feed coupled to the top element, and an unbalanced communication line coupled to the feed via a bottom element, wherein a dielectric layer is formed between the bottom element and the feed.

Long term evolution (lte) outdoor antenna and module

An improved dual gridded reflector antenna configuration which allows cross-polarization radiation to be scanned in any given direction. The dual-gridded reflector assembly includes a front parabolic reflector illuminated by a first source, and a second parabolic reflector illuminated by a second source. The second reflector is positioned adjacent to and behind the front reflector such that the center points of the reflectors align to define a center axis. Additionally, the first and second sources are positioned at different offsets with respect to the reflectors and have a respective rotated offset angle with respect to the center axis such that the sources define an antenna feed separation. By modifying the offsets and the rotated offset angles, the feed separation can be designed to have an inclination with respect to the north-south or east-west feed separation direction.
