Abstract: Early guidance emphasizes the provision of information to families about growth and normal development in childhood such as specific information about security at home. This research aimed to analyze mothers' knowledge about the prevention of accidents in childhood before and after an educational intervention. It was conducted as a quasi-experimental study with 155 mothers in a Basic Health Unit in northeastern of Brazil in April and May of 2015. The data were collected in two stages through a self-report questionnaire performed before and after the educational intervention by the subjects. The results revealed a significant increase in knowledge about prevention of accidents in childhood in all the self-applied questions (p<0.05). After the educational intervention, there seemed to be a significant difference with the questions regarding the knowledge on preventing fall (p=0.000), drowning (p=0.000), and intoxication (p=0.007). The authors concluded that the educational intervention performed in this study increased the subjects' knowledge on prevention of accidents in childhood.

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Social determinants are understood as the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work and age, reflecting positively or negatively in their lives. This is seen mainly in adolescents, leaving them susceptible to risks and vulnerabilities that are associated with social inequities, The study of them allows us to identify the influence of these determinants in adolescence. This study aimed to analyze the Social Determinants of Health: Risks and Vulnerabilities in Adolescence through established categories. METHODS: Critical analysis about the social determinants of health and the risks and vulnerabilities in adolescence. There was division into two categories: Risk and Vulnerability in Adolescence and Social Determinants of Health in Adolescence, which identified their most relevant aspects. RESULTS: The abuse of alcohol and drugs, labor exploitation, violence, unplanned pregnancy and infection by STD / HIV / AIDS were the main risks and vulnerabilities found in adolescence, and those were influenced by social determinants of health. CONCLUSION: Health inequities are complex issues that permeate many aspects, both individually and collectively. Although there are policies for the care of adolescent health, there is the need for effective strategies or new empathic and active policies to minimize damages and to provide quality of life as well as the reduction of health inequities.

Abstract: Este estudo teve o objetivo de conhecer como ocorrem as conversas entre pais e filhos adolescentes sobre sexo/sexualidade e medidas preventivas de HIV/AIDS. Foram entrevistados 26 pais de adolescentes matriculados em uma escola publica do Municipio de Fortaleza, Ceara, Brasil. Os resultados do estudo mostraram que a maioria dos pais tem motivacao e interesse de conversar com os filhos sobre a tematica, apesar de alguns terem relatado dificuldades em abordar o assunto com os filhos. Percebe-se que a maioria das conversas ocorridas na familia apresenta carater de advertencia e nao existe maior esclarecimento sobre medidas preventivas de HIV/AIDS ou de uma gravidez indesejada. E preciso que os profissionais de saude adotem estrategias para a adocao do dialogo informativo com os pais e adolescentes a respeito das diferentes situacoes ocasionadas pelas relacoes sexuais desprotegidas, inovando a forma e a qualidade das informacoes, de modo a viabilizar maior aderencia desta populacao as praticas de comportamento sexual seguro.

Abstract: Objetivo: Analisar as repercussoes da Clownterapia no processo de hospitalizacao da crianca. Metodos: Estudo exploratorio-descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, desenvolvido no periodo de agosto a setembro de 2012 junto a equipe de Enfermagem de hospital pediatrico do municipio de Cajazeiras, PB. Resultados: Os principais problemas inerentes ao processo de hospitalizacao da crianca, na otica dos profissionais de enfermagem, consistiram na mudanca do ambiente natural da crianca e no tempo de permanencia no hospital. Dentre as modificacoes dadas a partir da Clownterapia, notou-se a formacao espontânea de vinculos entre a equipe de enfermagem, as criancas e seus respectivos responsaveis, facilitando a compreensao e colaboracao destes em todas as etapas do cuidar. Conclusao: A Clownterapia mostra-se como facilitadora das praticas especificas da enfermagem no aspecto individual e coletivo das criancas hospitalizadas, trazendo a perspectiva de promocao da saude para estes sujeitos.

Abstract: Objective: To know the effects of clown therapy in the child's hospitalization. Method: Descriptive exploratory study with qualitative approach, carried out from August to September 2012 with the nursing staff of a pediatric hospital in the city of Cajazeiras, PB, Brazil. Results: The main problems inherent to the hospitalization process, in the view of nursing professionals, consisted in changing the natural environment of the child and the length of stay in the hospital. Among the modifications caused by clown therapy, we identified the spontaneous bonding between the nursing staff, children and their respective guardians, facilitating the understanding and their cooperation in all stages of care. Conclusion: Clown therapy was proved to be a facilitator of specific nursing practices and in the individual and collective aspect of hospitalized children, bringing them the prospect of health promotion.
