Journal ArticleDOI
Reduced cardiotoxicity and comparable efficacy in a phase III trial of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin HCl (CAELYX™/Doxil®) versus conventional doxorubicin for first-line treatment of metastatic breast cancer
Mary O'Brien,Nely Wigler,Moshe Inbar,R. Rosso,E. Grischke,Armando Santoro,Raphael Catane,D. G. Kieback,Piotr Tomczak,Stephen P. Ackland,F. Orlandi,L. Mellars,L. Alland,C. Tendler +13 more
TL;DR: In first-line therapy for MBC, PLD provides comparable efficacy to doxorubicin, with significantly reduced cardiotoxicity, myelosuppression, vomiting and alopecia.
Journal Article
The CC chemokine RANTES in breast carcinoma progression: regulation of expression and potential mechanisms of promalignant activity.
Elina Azenshtein,Galia Luboshits,Sima Shina,Eran Neumark,David Shahbazian,Miguel Weil,Nely Wigler,Iafa Keydar,Adit Ben-Baruch +8 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that the expression of RantES by breast tumor cells results not only in monocyte migration to the tumor site but also in protumorigenic activities of RANTES and of proinflammatory cytokines that may facilitate metastasis formation and contribute to disease progression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation therapy of metastatic spinal cord compression. Multidisciplinary team diagnosis and treatment.
Felix Kovner,Shulem Spigel,Irit Rider,Itzhak Otremsky,Ilan G. Ron,Eliezer Shohat,Jose M. Rabey,Jose Avram,Ofer Merimsky,Nely Wigler,Samario Chaitchik,Moshe Inbar +11 more
TL;DR: Close cooperation of a multidisciplinary team in diagnosis and treatment according to the above protocol enabled the achievement of good results of radiation treatment in SCC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlation between c-erbB-4 receptor expression and response to gemcitabine—cisplatin chemotherapy in non-small-cell lung cancer
Ofer Merimsky,A. Staroselsky,Moshe Inbar,Y. Schwartz,Nely Wigler,A. Mann,Sylvia Marmor,J. Greif +7 more
TL;DR: C-erbB-4 expression status showed no correlation with survival and cannot be accepted at this time as a guiding factor for therapeutic management and deserves further evaluation.
Journal Article
Breast carcinoma: a report on the potential usage of the CC chemokine RANTES as a marker for a progressive disease.
Nely Wigler,Sima Shina,Ofer Kaplan,Galia Luboshits,Samario Chaitchik,Iafa Keydar,Adit Ben-Baruch +6 more
TL;DR: The assessment of RANTES expression may be useful for the identification of patients with apparently poor prognosis who may benefit from aggressive treatment, and calls for large-scale studies by numerous research groups to determine the prognostic value of RantES expression.
