TL;DR: In this article, the reversible switching behavior of Rhodamine B molecules embedded in the core of metallodendrimers was studied both in solution and on glass surfaces, and their switching behavior was observed at the single molecular level by locally changing the chemical environment using µ-contact printing.
Abstract: Laser scanning confocal microscopy is a powerful tool that enalbles the investigation of phenomena occurring at the single molecular level. In this work we present the latest results on the observation of a pH dependent switch at the single molecular level. The reversible switching behaviour of Rhodamine B molecules embedded in the core of metallodendrimers was studied both in solution and on glass surfaces. Moreover Rhodamine B switching molecules were covalently linked to a glass surface and their switching behavior was observed at the single molecular level by locally changing the chemical environment using µ-contact printing.
