Specifically the present invention describes a graphical user interface for organizing the simultaneous display of information from a multitude of information sources. In particular, the present invention comprises a graphical user interface which organizes content from a variety of information sources into a grid of tiles, each of which can refresh its content independently of the others. The grid functionality manages the refresh rates of the multiple information sources. The present invention is intended to operate in a platform independent manner.

The present invention is directed to systems and methods for detecting unsolicited and threatening communications and communicating threat information related thereto. Threat information is received from one or more sources; such sources can include external security databases and threat information data from one or more application and/or network layer security systems. Features are extracted from the reduced threat information; these features in conjunction with configuration data such as goals are used to produce rules. An approach to managing stored-value data objects, such as electronic tickets, comprises secure systems and procedures for ticket issuing, storage, and redemption. With these systems and procedures in place, stored-value data objects may be securely transferred to remote systems, such as a user's personal electronic device, for subsequent secure redemption, thus allowing the user to gain access to the desired goods or service upon redeeming the data object. Techniques provide secure delivery of the requested data object to the requesting device, and provide secure redemption and disposal of the data object. Ticket issuing systems may be Internet-accessible systems, and users may purchase and redeem tickets using mobile terminals or other devices adapted for wireless communication. Standardized WPKI and Internet access procedures may be employed in ticket issuance and redemption. Techniques further provide temporary and rapid verification data objects useful where rapid ticket verification is essential, such as mass transit systems.

The present invention relates to a cellular mobile radio system. Each cell includes a base station, a plurality of mobile stations and radio channels, for transmitted digital information between the base station and the mobile stations. More precisely the invention concern a method and an arrangement for dynamically allocating time slots to connections on the radio channels, in order to increase the capacity on the radio channels. The maximum number of simultaneous connections on the radio channels will be more than the available number of time slots per frame. When there are more connections established on a first and a second radio channel than time slots per frame, the connections share the available time slots in accordance with a determined multiframe time slot allocation scheme known to the base station and the mobile stations. The base station is selecting one of the time slot allocation schemes in dependence on the speech activity on the two radio channels. Information on the multiframe time slot allocation scheme selected, is transmitted on the first radio channel, to the mobile stations, during guard spaces.

An apparatus and method for activating an operational mode for a portable intelligent communications device when a user thereof is engaged in a meeting. The operational mode includes various settings of the portable intelligent communications device configured therefor with such settings being activated upon initiation of the meeting. The operational mode is then deactivated upon completion of the meeting. Both activation and deactivation of the operational mode may be accomplished either automatically or manually. In either case, the settings for the operational mode are configured via a graphical user interface on a display screen of the portable intelligent communications device.

A modular unit having a telecommunications component, a switching circuit, and a headset link is adapted for connection with a host electronic device. The headset link of the modular unit communicates with a module link in a headset. The headset also contains earphones or a speaker, a microphone, and a control panel in electrical connection with the module link of the headset. The speaker, microphone, and control panel of the headset communicate with the headset link of the modular unit through the module link in the headset. The switching circuit of the modular unit controls whether the headset link of the module is in electrical connection with the telecommunications component of the modular unit or an electronic audio component of the host electronic device.
