PURPOSE:To easily produce the title highly transparent electrically conductive film having excellent adhesion, high transparency and high conductivity by vacuum-depositing a metal oxide on a plastic substrate, and heating the substrate or carrying out high-frequency oscillation during the vapor deposition. CONSTITUTION:The transparent conductive film consisting of a metal oxide is vapor-deposited on the plastic substrate with the surface preferably coated. In this case, the substrate is heated and/or high-frequency oscillation is carried out during the vapor deposition. At least one or more kinds among indium oxide, tin oxide, antimony oxide, and cadmium oxide are preferably used as the metal oxides. Polymethyl methacrylate resin is preferably used for the plastic substrate. The substrate is heated at >=about 50 deg.C and at a temp. where the substrate is not deformed. High-frequency oscillation is preferably carried out at about 50-1,200W. By this method, a transparent conductive film having excellent characteristics and useful for electronic device, optical devices, etc., can be obtained.
