In one embodiment, a permanent magnet includes: a composition expressed by R p Fe q M r Cu s CO 100-p-q-r-s (R is a rare-earth element, M is at least one element selected from Zr, Ti, and Hf, 10 ≤ p ≤ 13.5 at%, 25 ≤ q ≤ 40 at%, 1.35 ≤ r ≤ 1.75 at%, and 0.88 ≤ s ≤ 13.5 at%); and a metallic structure including Th 2 Zn 17 crystal phases each having a Fe concentration of 25 at% or more, and Cu-rich crystal phases each having a Cu concentration of from 25 at% to 70 at%. An average thickness of the Cu-rich crystal phases is 20 nm or less, and an average distance between the Cu-rich crystal phases is 200 nm or less.

Provided is a method for producing a magnetic material. The method includes preparing magnetic metal particles containing at least one magnetic metal selected from a first group consisting of Fe, Co and Ni, and at least one non-magnetic metal selected from a second group consisting of Mg, Al, Si, Ca, Zr, Ti, Hf, Zn, Mn, Ba, Sr, Cr, Mo, Ag, Ga, Sc, V, Y, Nb, Pb, Cu, In, Sn and rare earth elements, pulverizing and reaggregating the magnetic metal particles, and thereby forming composite particles containing a magnetic metal phase and an interstitial phase, and heat-treating the composite particles at a temperature of from 50° C. to 800° C. The particle size distribution of the magnetic metal particles in the preparing magnetic metal particles has two or more peaks.

In the system, the images sorted by a particle image sorting device (45) are stored in an image storage unit (9) together with the results of sorting, and the images designated by the user input and the results of sorting the images are displayed on a CRT display (20). A user inputs an instruction for resorting the images based on the display through a touch panel (26). The results of resorting are stored in a optical magnetic disk (14) together with the images.

PURPOSE:To provide a production method of the conductive powder suitable for the conductive paste used to form the circuit using photolithography technique. CONSTITUTION:In the conductive powder which is dispersed in an inert vehicle to make a paste and used to form a conductive film by exposure, the powder produced by a chemical method is adjusted with its grain size by a jet mill. It is preferable to heat-treat the powder in vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere before treating it with the jet mill, and the coarsely pulverizing stage of the powder may be included between the heat treating stage and the jet mill treating stage.

Production of conductive powder

PURPOSE: To manufacture the fine and highly dense metallic spherical powders by repeatedly applying the hitting force against the raw material of the metallic powder consisting of the aggregate of fine primary particles, and generating the granularization through the dissociation of the aggregate. CONSTITUTION: The hitting force by the high speed collision is repeatedly applied to the raw material of the metallic powder containing independent particles consisting of the aggregate where fine primary particles are irregularly connected to each other in a three dimensional manner. The raw material of this metallic powder which is produced in the chemical method is appropriate, and the powder whose volumetric fixed resistance of e.g. 2.0×10 Ωcm is applicable. The collision is achieved between the metallic powders or to other bodies at a relatively high speed. This collision generates the new independent particles through the dissociation of the aggregates, and the primary particles are combined inside the independent particle or between the independent particles to promote the granularization.

Manufacture of metallic powder

PURPOSE:To recover metal fine powder in a short time by dissolving polymeric compound in metal powder-containing water, developing solid material or semi- fluidized material and catching the metal fine powder with this. CONSTITUTION:In the water containing noble metal fine powder of silver, etc., polymeric compound of agar, gelatine, etc., is added. This is naturally cooled while stirring to develop the solid material or semi-fluidized material. The metal fine powder in the liquid is caught to this material. This is taken out and heat treatment is executed in an oven, etc., and by decomposing the solid material or the semi-fluidized material, the noble metal powder is recovered. By this method, even a super fine powder having <=1mum particle diameter can be easily recovered.

Method for recovering metal fine powder

PURPOSE: To obtain allay powder for a paste which has excellent oxidation resistance and migration resistance and is suitable for production of fine electronic circuits by specifying the compsn. ratio, of an Au-Ag alloy. CONSTITUTION: The alloy compsn. is composed, by weight, of 5 to 90% Au, 10 to 95% Ag and the balance inevitable impurities. Production of the alloy powder for the paste is executed by the following stages : (l) The Au and Ag powders having a prescribed average grain size, preferably <=10μM are mixed at the prescribed compsn. ratio. (2) The mixture is frictionally crushed by mechanical pulverizing means, such as ball mills. At this time, the Au and Ag powders are made into finer flaky state and are made into the state of shortening the distance between the atoms by laminating and tightly adhering the Au and the Ag to as to easily alloy both in the next heating stage. (3) While the heating time for alloying by heating the flaky powders to 200 to 800 deg.C varies with the grain sizes of the flaky powders, the heating time may be about 10 to 180 minutes. (4) The powders subjected to the heating treatment are frictionally ground again by the mechanical pulverizing means.
