Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of Potent Fibrinolytic Enzymes in Earthworm, Lumbricus rubellus

TL;DR: From the results of amino acid sequence, amino acid composition analyses and immunological analyses, it was suggested that these six enzyme proteins were derived as isozyme(s) from at least four different genes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhancement of water-solubility and bioactivity of paclitaxel using modified cyclodextrins

TL;DR: 2, 6-Dimethyl beta-cyclodextrin was the most effective and its solubility was 2.3 mM in a 0.1 M 2,6-dimethylbeta-cyclodesxtrin aqueous solution, and had a 1.23-fold polymerization activity as paclitaxel in a tubulin assay.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biotransformation of thymol, carvacrol, and eugenol by cultured cells of Eucalyptus perriniana.

TL;DR: The cultured cells of E. perriniana are able to convert these aroma compounds of spices into glycosides which are accumulated in the cells and converted 3 into the corresponding beta-glucoside and beta-gentiobioside.
Journal ArticleDOI

A unique strong fibrinolytic enzyme (katsuwokinase) in skipjack “Shiokara” a Japanese traditional fermented food

TL;DR: A crude enzyme extracted from skipjack Shiokara (Katsuwonus pelamis) showed a very strong fibrinolytic activity above 45 CU/g (fibrin plate method) based on plasmin, demonstrating its identity as a new and very potent fibralelytic enzyme.
