A dental post comprising a rod fabricated of fiber-reinforced composite material. The rod comprises a plurality of frustoconical sections arranged coaxially along the longitudinal axis of the rod. Preferably the rod has consistent width along the longitudinal axis wherein the frustoconical sections each have the same tapered width and same length. The number of frustoconical units per rod can vary. The frustoconical sections may vary in shape. Moreover, the rod may include a channel therein extending along the longitudinal axis thereof. The rod may also include one or more grooves extending along the surface thereof.

A fiber optics dental post includes a resin body and plural fiber optics center shafts; wherein the resin body includes an outer peripheral face, a receiving irradiation portion, and a bottom; each of the fiber optics center shafts pierces through and is fixed in the resin body, and has a receiving irradiation end and a light-guide irradiation end; each receiving irradiation end placed on the receiving irradiation portion of the resin body is used to receive the light irradiating on the receiving irradiation portion, and each light-guide irradiation end is respectively placed on the outer peripheral face and at the bottom of the resin body, thus the light received by each receiving irradiation end is propagated to the outer peripheral face and the bottom of the resin body through the light-guide irradiation end for irradiation, so as to effectively enhance the adhesion strength of the dental post.

Fiber optics dental post

The tooth root canal point is made of a synthetic material reinforced with glass or carbon fibers and not of the usual gutta percha. When inserted with bone cement, the result is a solid but not completely rigid post that conforms to the contours of the tooth root canal and ensures a high stability of the tooth.

The root canal inlay (1) is made of a fiber reinforced material like carbon fiber, fiber glass or ceramic fiber. The fibers (2) are preferably arranged parallel to each other and kept together by a suitable plastic or artificial resin. The material should retain a slight flexibility in order to enter crevices in the surface of the root canal (4). The unit (1) is covered with a layer of an appropriate synthetic material like vinyl-silan.
