Investigation of the chemical composition and biological activity of Xylopia aethiopica Dunal (Annonacae)

TL;DR: The phytochemical composition and physicochemical properties of oil extractable from the fruits of Xylopia aethiopica were determined in this paper, where the effects on cell membrane stability and prostaglandin synthetase activity were also evaluated.

Antihyperglycaemic effect of aqueous extract of Daniella oliveri and Sarcocephalus latifolius roots on key carbohydrate metabolic enzymes and glycogen in experimental diabetes

TL;DR: The results indicate that the decoction of the roots of S. latifolius and D. oliveri is a good option for alternative medicine in the management of diabetes mellitus and the probable mechanism of action of the extract has antihyperglycaemic effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phytochemical and proximate composition of cucumber (Cucumis sativus) fruit from Nsukka, Nigeria

TL;DR: Quantitative phytochemical analysis of the homogenate of C. sativus fruit showed that reducing sugars was highest amount when compared to other phytochemicals, alkaloids and flavonoids, and proximate constituents.
Journal ArticleDOI
