According the present invention, a sound field controller for reproducing a sound field with presence comprising; input terminals for inputting an audio signal having a first and a second channel signals, a signal extracting circuit for receiving and processing the audio signal, and producing an extracted signal of the audio signal, an operation circuit for receiving the extracted signal from the signal extracting circuit, performing the convolution on the extracted signal, and generating a convolution sum signal, a delay circuit for delaying the convolution sum signal by a predetermined time, and producing a delayed signal, an adding circuit for receiving the audio signal and the delayed signal, and adding the audio signal and the delayed signal with a predetermined summation ratio to produce a summed signal, and output terminals for reproducing the summed signal to localize a sound image in a desirable direction.

A computer system including separate digital and analog system chips which provides increased performance over current computer architectures. The computer system of the present invention includes a digital system chip which performs various digital functions, including multimedia functions and chipset functions, and a separate analog chip which performs analog functions, including digital to analog and analog to digital conversions. Thus the present invention optimizes silicon use and design by splitting up digital and analog functions on separate chips. The system of the present invention also separates digital noise from analog noise, allowing a higher degree of integration while increasing stability.

A method and apparatus for providing a zero dead time for flow analyzers, flow cytometers, and other measurement devices. A circular buffer is used to store data from a flow analyzer in a plurality of data storage areas, until it is convenient to implement more time-consuming data processing procedures. User specified parameters, including sampling rate and/or sampling period, size and number of data storage areas, size of the circular or other buffer, signal-to-noise threshold, order of processing when a plurality of Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) is used, and fixed trailing distance, are used to provide flexible and convenient operation by a user. The probability of missing a rare event occurring within the laser beam or other light beam of a flow analyzer or other measurement device is reduced to zero. Functional equivalents may be used in place of the circular buffer, for example, First In-First Out buffers which route data to a cache for potential re reading and/or reprocessing or additional processing of data, cascading buffers, etc.
